That's my point! Crawford and Mikey are much closer in size, and they BOTH have NOT proved anything at 147! That's why I posed the question, "Why is Spence vs. Garcia a mismatch, but SPence vs. Crawford is not?"

Remembering Sugar Ray Leonard-Roberto Duran I

        June 20, 2015:

On June 20, 1980, Roberto Duran won the WBC welterweight title by defeating Sugar Ray Leonard by unanimous decision in 15 hard-fought rounds.

The fight took place at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal.

        TOP THINGS TO KNOW

        1. Duran entered the bout 71-1 after a long career at the lightweight division. Duran moved up to the welterweight division after he vacated his WBC and WBA lightweight titles in 1978.

        2. Leonard was undefeated at 27-0 and making the second defense of his WBC welterweight belt. It was Leonard’s first return to Montreal since he won Olympic gold in 1976...

        http://www.espn.com/blog/boxing/post...oberto-duran-i

I understand that Mikey has not fought a "Palomino" first, but Mikey is an undefeated P4P fighter, a former Jr. WW Champion, and that wasn't years ago, that was last year! I think Broner and Lipinets are about as good as anyone Crawford fought @ 140! So although I see Spence as the favorite, I don't see Mikey as a mismatch anymore then I see Crawford as a mismatch!

One thing is for certain, it's Mikey who's been pushing for this fight, nobody matched him up with Spence he did that himself constantly calling him out. He is unfortunately going to get what he asked for.

As a boxing fan I don't see Mikey's strategy or his point in calling out Spence. Mikey has options from 135 to 147, even Pacquiao is a viable option for Mikey, after all Mikey already beat Broner.

Going for Spence Mikey is either cashing out or honestly thinks he's better than what he is. In my opinion this fight will look like Spence - Algieri

Absolutely. Loma v Garcia and Crawford v Spence are the fights which make sense.
This right here is a mismatch, plain and simple.

Loma vs Bud? Do yourself a favour and put the pipe down, no want wants this, Loma's small at 135 this would be such a mis-match due to size, not a good fight might as well have cross gender boxing if we make these fights.

They should make Loma vs Garcia and Crawford vs Spence, these proove more (unless the little guys beat the big guys against the odds which is unlikely) and Showtime could take one fight and Top Rank the other.

This new sho/fox/ppv model may very well work but it’s not the pbc model.
I've been posting here since PBC started telling people what the true intention was. That was ignored by many here lol I even showed the ratings data (between UFC and PBC on network TV) to explain my point.

This was the plan the whole time. The math was clear to see from the beginning. (Getting a TV deal and PPV revenue to mimic the UFC)

That's what the TopRank suit was really about. Bob saw what was happening. Once that exclusivity provision was stripped in the settlement, Bob moved to get the ESPN content deal first (after it had already been discussed with PBC/ESPN). PBC waited out UFC's deal (which eventually landed at ESPN) to get the leftovers from the losing network. This is something I also wrote about here.

The only reason FOX doesn't have all of the PBC fights is because of Haymon's loyalty to Showtime. FOX was willing to take all of that content for $125M annually to fill the content void left by UFC's departure. Espinosa wouldn't let that content leave. That's why there's a bifurcated content deal.

PPV was always coming from them. That "free boxing for all" stuff was just marketing for their time buys.

I don’t get it either , I usually just record a PPV and watch it when I get home at night like most other fights.

I don’t know to many people that actually follow the sport , Unless it’s a mega fight that attracts casuals like Lewis /Tyson , May /PAC , May/McGregor , Canelo /Cotto then my house is packed and I’m the one that has to supply everything for everyone. I Definitely get the short end of the stick

But it’s worth it sometimes when you have a whole house cheering for Manny PAC when he fought against Mayweather ( me and the GF were the only Mayweather fans ) and just seeing their disappointment after the fight was priceless after years of them talking sh.it
I dont get it either??? Good fights being made with expensive fighters and they complain??? *** they're more happy paying one guy $3.5 million and the other guy $500K type fights we just saw ohhh but it free!!! Like the Crawford fight or these Charlo bros. fighting guys that stand ZERO chance.

If they think this is bad they should watch UFC which does 1-2 PPV fights a MONTH!

And its really rare to have 3 so close so im not stressing.

Who knows we might see Fury KTFO which would be funny or we see him pull a Saunders and make Wilder look like a drunk swinging like a wild rtard.

Mikey might beat Spence and we will all be like HOLY fkn SHT!!! Or Spence might beat the *** out of him and say kid go home. Im not mad one bit at Kahn or Brook.

Broner Pac fight should be good. If Pac is truly back I predict Broner to go crying out the ring again. Especially if he talks mad sht. Pac usually does his best against sht talkers. *** Broner might try to get behind Pac and dry *** him but Pac crazy angles KHTFO!!! That be a memory I would cherish forever.

The reality is that most boxing fans aren't logical. They just have these "affiliations" and become emotionally attached to them.

PBC is putting out the best product by a mile. Those 3 cards are better than almost anything we're getting from other companies.

Truthfully GBP helped give us some of the other good fights by letting Linares and Diaz outside of their web. However, they also didn't really have much of a choice until this new deal.
