but you can talk about what ward said about HW...and u can take what he said about floyd at 160 and throw them both out the window...completely

a 168 guy going to HW is highly unlikely...very highly...and floyd shot down any fight against anyone at 160...floyd said 160 was too high and "everyone has limits"...making both of those very unrealistic

golovkin did pursue fights at 168...he put his name to paper for chavez...he wanted froch...his team mentioned it every other week for years as a possibility....floating the names of 168 guys on a constant basis as potential opponents...and even mentioning hopkins....and even had abel out there talking about how he could beat all the 175lb guys "but we wont talk about thats cause its not on the table"

golovkin at 168 was very realistic..its one class...not 3 higher.....golovkin pursued actual fights there and mentioned specific guys cosntantly

theres a huge difference between what ward said and what golovkin said....one side is not very realistic or feasible..while the other completely is...thats not really up for debate
I do not see any clear ducks for anyone. Could Golovkin have moved up to 168lbs yeah sure. Would it have made any sense, absolutely not. So his team said a few too much, big deal. There might have been a brief moment when it was a consideration, IDK. But if I'm going to get so worked about this then I'm not going to just sit ideally by and say Ward talking HW means nothing. I shouldn't believe Ward about HW but when he just happened to call out Golovkin at the exact moment he did that was the truth. I'm so tired of going over that Ward-Golovkin situation. I've said if Golovkin had established himself at 28-32 then I don't discount the possibility of the fight happening.

And anyone who tries to throw Mayweather ducking Golovkin at any time is being ridiculous. The only guy Golovkin would have reasonably gone down in weight for was Mayweather, because of the huge pay day and knowing Mayweather could never have made 160lbs. But that fight was never going to happen.

What a fkn ****** thread. Canelo has been coming in at over 170 since his days at 154. Instead of stepping up to face Golovkin at 160 when he could no longer make 154, he invented his own weight class.

Canelo is giving up 4" in height, and around 5" in reach, fighting in a brand new division for the first time against a guy with 1 loss to the #1 guy. It's pretty dangerous giving up such a big size advantage.
I agree that the division is stronger than people realize. That said I don't think Fielding is very good and the fact Canelo is taking this fight so quickly after a tough fight should tell you they don't either.

That's my opinion but that's why they fight.

C'mon now... If this was Golovkin fighting Fielding people would be ripping him a new one for "Ducking Charlo" and "fighting the weakest champion".

And this is where the hypocritical bull***** comes in. Canelo moves up to fight someone at 168 when he has a stacked 160lb division and he gets applauded. GGG pulls that ***** and they would piss and moan. Especially considering the opposition. Rocky Felding is probably the 5th best British Super middleweight after Callum Smith, James DeGeale, George Groves and Chris Eubanks Jr. Big deal.

But GGG never moved up. You GGG fans can only deal in hypotheticals. His best wins are all hypotheticals.

The reality is when he did have an opportunity to face a 168 fighter he said no thanks if it's not Chavez Jr or Froch. And when did fight someone not from 160 they were JMW & WW.

                  Let's stick to reality

You want to stick with reality rather than hypotheticals fine. Let's stick with reality. Canelo is fighting the 5th best British super middleweight (after Callum Smith, George Groves, Chris Eubanks Jr and James DeGeale) for a paper title when he has a stacked weight class of possible opponents at 160. He asked for a voluntary defense of his title so that he didn't fight Charlo next and then moved up to 168 to fight the 5th best British super middleweight. Somehow you use this as an opportunity to ***** on GGG rather than point out that Canelo is a Ginger haired cherry picking ***er.
