Letting him take an optional defense after that is not
    exactly protecting their 'cash cow'.
Had Golovkin beaten Canelo he would have had Charlo
waiting for him, so pitting the two against each other
makes more sense than an immediate rubber match
between Canelo & GGG. I know some people would prefer
if they just keep letting Golovkin fight Canelo over-&-over
until GGG finally manages to win, but that's not realistic or
    likely to happen.

Letting him take an option defense is ok, but not changing the rules to suit Alvarez. If GGG won, does Charlo have to go through Alvarez? I doubt it. Canelo would just fight for another abc title next .

What organisation in the world treats you like a king after you publicly shame them and toss their most prized possession in the bin??? A corrupt one.

GGG: No, I only want to fight Sugar Ray Leonard.

Loeffler: Ok, hey Gennady how about this. Tommy Hearns wants to fight you and he will give in to all our demands!

GGG: No, I only want to fight Leonard!

Loeffler: Ok, here is a good fight, Mike McCallum said he would fight you and he will fight for peanuts and you can get the lions share.

      GGG: No, only Leonard!

Loeffler: Ok, Gennady, you now what. Duran said he can knock you out and he is ready to make a deal.

GGG: No, how many times do I have to say it you American Imperialist, only Leonard!

Loeffler: Ok, I see your plan here. You just want to secure a higher profile with a Leonard bout, pretty smart. Then, after Leonard you will fight Hagler, Hearns, Duran, and maybe McCallum for more money.

GGG: I did not say that you Yankee capitalist pig! After he fights me I will demand rematch after rematch until I get outcome I want. Then, I declare myself greatest middleweight of all time and retire!

I would love this fight to happen
What a bunch of fck idiots you guys are. Still so keen to bash GGG that you can't even see that Canelo, not GGG, is the one who's avoiding Charlo! And the WBC are bending over backwards - possibly breaking their own rules - to help him do it!

Even some moron talking about a damned purse bid - but for GGG vs Charlo, not Charlo vs Canelo!

News flash 1: Golovkin is no longer the WBC champion, Canelo is!

News flash 2: Charlo isn't asking for a fight with GGG, he wants to fight Canelo!

Question you should be asking, instead of bashing GGG like a bunch of mindless pricks: Why are the WBC telling Charlo he has to beat GGG to get a shot at Canelo?

Jermall is the interim champion. That's supposed to mean he has the right to fight for the full title immediately, if he wants to.

The WBC can grant Canelo a voluntary defence before Charlo, if they see fit. But they have no business ordering Jermall to fight somebody else before he gets his shot!

Much respect to Golovkin if he actually fights Charlo.

I think he will avoid him, though. Too high risk low reward.

But Golovkin didn't beat Canelo, did he? The Nevada judges made sure of that.

And Charlo doesn't want to fight Golovkin, he wants to fight the WBC champion, who's name is Canelo Alvarez, not Gennady Golovkin.

I would love this fight to happen. GGG deflorates pusy Charlo and takes his beloved 0 away.

First of all, your insecurities are on full blast! I do AGREE it's unfair that Canelo gets a voluntary defense when Charlo has been waiting for the winner of Canelo vs. GGG since 2017! CHARLO SHOULD NOT HAVE TO GO THROUGH GGG FOR CANELO! Secondly, I only said "purse bid" because the WBC "ordered" the fight to take place! I don't think Loeffler will want GGG to go fight Charlo in Houston, TX on Showtime! Lastly, "MAN UP!" Charlo is a worthy opponent, and fans like you have felt that GGG would beat him, so here's his chance! He's not affiliated with any network, so this should be much easier to make!

In order for there to be a purse bid, GGG would need to be a WBC mandatory challenger, which he isn't.

And you are talking as if Charlo actually wants to fight GGG before Canelo - where the heck did you get that idea from?

It was a smart business decision on GGG's part. The Vanes fight was zero risk and more than offset the expenses incurred in preparation for the Cinco de Mayo fight with Canelo. But at the same time, it reinforced the idea that GGG feasts on lower level fighters and struggles with top-level fighters. Plus move destroys the idea that his cheerleaders advance that GGG is an all-time great who fights the best available fighters.
