Ortiz's actual age is questionable, and he definitely was not the feared boogeyman of 5 years previous when he fought Wilder. However he was, and still is a quality operator. Age is not as much of a factor at HW as it is at lower weights as the decline is generally slower. Both Klitschko's still performed well at around 40, so does Povetkin. Pulev's no spring chicken either at 37, but would beat most of the younger contenders comfortably.
Looking at all the different ranking/ratings systems you could argue that on average at HW, a boxer doesn't even start to decline until at least 35/36 which would be considered ancient in any of the other divisions.

Fury improved massively from his first fight. The technique and footwork was there.... I think we'll see another big leap in performance for Wilder as he hasn't had to lose any weight going into camp, but he lost 20 lbs before the Pianeta fight. I thought it was a good run out and he got everything he needed from it.

Wilder may th in k fury has a point that may worry wilder.
Also fury is 6 ft 9 and heavier. Wilder deep down might think he's got his hands full here.

Fury could break Wilder up with his jab and have windmills swinging for the rafters all night to be honest.

It's interesting that nobody on Wilder's team contradicted Fury when he said Ortiz was 49. And I'm wondering why he was talking about nearly KO'ing Ortiz himself.

Wilder is delusional. He thinks he's a better trash talker than Fury, which he obviously isn't. He'll keep trying though, which is good for Fury, because he can wind Wilder up and get him angry and frustrated.

If he can get Wilder fighting angry, wasting energy and making mistakes, that will be ideal for Tyson.

Keep up the good work Big Man!

Fury is going to be pummeled in this fight and the excuse will be he needed more tune ups. Both Fury and Joshua's claim to fame is beating an old Klitchko and Joshua had to do it after almost getting knocked out! Thank goodness Klitchko gassed and Joshua pulled it out. This is all a circus, Wilder is clearly the best heavyweight today and the most avoided. The only reason Fury is taking this fight is because Joshua wouldn't dare fight him and in the end it's all about making as much money as possible. Fury will get destroyed in less than 8 rounds. Joshua will look to fight another tomato can safely tucked away in England where Hearn can control the outcome
I like how you tried really hard not to make this post about Joshua but totally failed.

Fury is gonna box the earmuffs off Wilder, he still has the speed and the footwork, plus the best head movements in the division!

Wilder’s only hope is to target the body, which won’t be easy cuz Fury will use the ring and walk Wilder into jabs and combinations then dance away!

I got Fury putting on a career best performance by near complete shut out UD!
