We have one less broadcaster that is not even interested in growing boxing, good news.

Wow. Thats actually a shock. I know there’s been a lot of talk about it happening on here but I still didn’t think it would happen. Bet you pbc/showtime groupies are happy

Damn! No more stories from Jim Lampley about the death of the PBC! Lol!

"If PBC disappears, there will be an urge to see that as a devastating loss. In truth, it was predictable. Nearly 40 years of delivery via subscription channels like this one and our primary competitor [Showtime] have accustomed boxing's audience to seeing a continuous story uninterrupted by commercials. On commercial television, the mini-dramas in the corners between rounds are visible only as tape flashbacks. As live entertainment, it's not the same thing.

"Boxing's next shot in the arm will emerge gradually, as the high-profile and highly skilled fighters on the PBC roster begin to achieve free agency and re-integrate into the upper landscape.

"In the best of all possible worlds, someday Thurman and Spence will match up with Terence Crawford, Deontay Wilder will fight Anthony Joshua, and Adonis Stevenson will at long last face Sergey Kovalev. The path to that goal will require the unique brand of ingenuity, bravery and passion that fuels real boxing promoters, people who are capable of doing one of the world's hardest jobs. As we can now see, there's a great deal more to it than merely raising and spending $500 million."

Indications that spending by boxing manager Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions has been clamped inspired HBO’s Jim Lampley to address the issue in his closing essay on “The Fight Game.”

By Keith Idec - Jim Lampley’s scathing soliloquy that closed the most recent episode of HBO’s 'The Fight Game' amounted to a misleading temper tantrum. That’s n

Max Kellerman is very fortunate he landed on First Take a year ago to replace Skip Bayless who moved to Fox. He is getting paid very well there. But losing that check has to hurt aka Roy Jones Jr. & Jim Lampley. But it was tough sometimes to watch when Larry Merchant was there and George Foreman. Big George confused the hell out of me. Didn’t know what he was talking about half the time. I would say to myself, “is he watching the same fight I’m watching,”LOL!!
              Going to miss HBO boxing!

You just made me think of getting rid of it too. That’s why I subscribed only for fights. But now I’m hooked on a few shows on there. May keep it.

                    Sad.

Let's hope they do like all fighters who announce retirement these days, and are back after six months.

                    All-time HBO favorites:

                    1) "If I were 50 years younger, I'd kick your ass"
                    2) Bowe vs Golota riot
                    3) Anything with vintage Iron Mike.

Exactly. Jim Lampley will be crawling to Al Haymon and The PBC with his hand out now asking for a job. Maybe he can work DAZN fights now,
