So far Arum has offered him an invitation to host the trilogy bout between Canelo vs GGG on ESPN and Eddie Hearn wants to bid on Canelo Alvarez' services for fighting on DAZN network; Which is almost impossible to do since Canelo is an exclusive PPV fighter; He won't be to match his guarantee.
If Hearn can lock Alvarez into a relatively long deal, that may just be enough to get the rest of that 8-year, $1b deal guaranteed. The Golovkin fight generated something like $40m for the pot on US, but Canelo is unlikely to draw that for every fight out if we're honest.

Eddie Hearn, with the deal locked in, could guarantee $25m for the May and September fights, with an option of $20m for any time that Alvarez wants to fight for a third time in a year.

Between Alvarez's money on his direct Mexico TV deal, the sponsors, the live event, etc, he'd be sitting on a nice payout per fight.

Alvarez eats half the money, but most of the shows are already simulcasts of what Sky Sports is already paying for (leaving him room to dedicate less money to the UK shows from the DAZN deal), and he's not set for blockbuster shows in the US anyone, leaving Hearn free to keep a nice chunk of that money for Matchroom Sport.

You mean to tell me that Eddie Hearn is willing to throw anywhere between $20-$25mil on a platform with a limited audience and viewing subscription among casual fans. How will he be able to recover those $20-$25 mil net losses? How will his investors expect to make a profit by overpaying Alvarez over the internet?

          • Wish that Superfly Series continues and migrate to ESPN.

It was a great idea that gives the little guys airtime and a platform to display their skills and courage.

It seems Ancajas vs Rungvisai is more likely now for early next year.

You don't think ESPN and showtime are making calls as we speak to Golden Boy promotions to bring them to their network??

I'm sure you don't wanna believe that cause you're just a hater but who wouldn't want Canelo on their network? Who wouldn't want Ryan Garcia on their network? Who wouldn't want Linares, JoJo Diaz, Munguia, Vergil Ortiz, and other fighters in the Golden Boy stable on their network?
Think about it you dumb fool!
I know you're a hater but use your brain for once and use common sense!
How stupid can you really be to think other networks aren't licking their chops at the thought of signing the biggest star in boxing??
Just think about it you fool!
Oscar does **** business, so yes, I don't think Espinoza is calling Oscar for ****. Beyond that, ESPN just paid a pretty penny to lock Top Rank Boxing up in a 360 deal to be their boxing content provider (depending on who you believe, Top Rank gets something like $30m a year to provide content for ESPN). ESPN has seen examples of what it's like to have one content provider and has seen examples of hosting multiple content providers and business is smoother when you've only got one source to work with.

Saul Alvarez, on his own, would easily be able to get a content deal from a broadcaster, imo.

The rest of Oscar's fighters wouldn't be scraping for exposure on EstrellaTV or Facebook or on ESPN2 with Tecate's timebuy if any of the rest of your ramblings were true.

Linares just got his **** pushed in by Lomachenko at 135lbs and is now fighting at a weight where near all the titles are in the tournament on DAZN or fighting on Showtime.

Joseph Diaz Jr just got schooled by GRJ, and near all of the other relevant fighters at the weight are tied up, fighting on Showtime, or are Oscar Valdez (in Arum's protection program).

Munguia is a raw, young fighter, but don't act like the three other belts and basically the other 9 of 10 top fighters at the weight aren't on Showtime.

              Lol

              • This is so sad.

And look at all these fake boxing fans cheering because there's going to be 1 less platform to watch fights.

Boxing in America is not going to be the same without Jim Lampley calling fights, whether its with Merchant, Foreman, Emmanuel Steward, Roy Jones, Max Kellerman, or whatever. Dude's responsible for some of the most memorable calls in boxing history.

You should want as much boxing on TV as possible. That's why this promoter stan war sh@t is ridiculous

Little girl, little girl you... You really are a fool!
Just cause you hold grudges like a little girl don't mean everyone else does.
Boxing is a business. What part of that don't you understand?? When you have an opportunity to sign the biggest star in boxing to your network then you put your own personal feelings, your pride, and your ego to the side.

Unlike you Stephen Espinoza is a very smart man and he's not gonna let his own personal feelings towards Oscar get in the way of him trying to bring Canelo back to Showtime. Canelo is the cash cow in boxing, he brings money and ratings so why wouldn't Stephen want him back on Showtime??
Think about it you fool! It dont matter what happened in the past! This is a business, You don't let your own personal feelings get in the way of business decisions!
And Canelo is signed to Golden Boy promotions so it's not like he can just go and sign his own TV contract with whoever he wants!

You do remember it was Oscar who took Canelo away from Showtime and took him back to HBO so obviously Oscar has a say so in what network Canelo fights on.

I'm sure you're still a loser living with your momma and you've never accomplished anything in life and you probably never will cause your such a fool who doesn't think with his brain. Canelo is money so why wouldn't Showtime want him??
Just think about it before you respond!
And just cause a fighter loses a fight doesn't mean it's the end of his career.
Both Linares and Jojo gave a great account of themselves in a losing effort and they both lost to great fighters and there's no shame in that! I'm sure networks will still be interested in showcasing their fights.
But you're gonna feel stupid when Canelo and Golden Boy promotions sign a TV deal with either Showtime or ESPN. You'll see.....
Hate all you want little girl... 😂
