Folks forget the Corrales performance, but when you're looking for someone to finally beat Floyd, you look at the areas where Floyd had issues, and you project that out.

Castillo, Corley, and a few others troubled Floyd largely behind activity/aggression and prime Paul Williams was a whirling dervish of activity, who was also massive for the weight.

With Floyd peaking as a big 140, and physically maxing out at junior middleweight (fight fit at 153lbs, with all of his fluids/food in him), the chances that he check hooks a 154/160lb fighter and puts him out with one shot are slim.
Floyd was right in front of Canelo teaching him all night about the Sweet Science. 152 vs 154, still.

As far as workrate one needs only look at the N'Dou and Burton fights. That aggression turns very quickly ineffective. Even Maidana after five rounds was nullified; Manny was nullified in all but four rounds; De La Hoya (154-160 fighter) was nullified after four rounds.

Floyd would have picked Williams off over 12.

I chuckle when people say what a fighter will do against Floyd based on what they do too others.

Floyd shuts them all down, Williams would have been easy for FM to out box to a UD.
Then what about the first Marcos Maidana fight? In that contest, Marcos had Floyd pinned on the ropes for much of the nightight and was out punching him. The fight was so close than many fans were demanding an immediate rematch because in the eyes of lot of fight them Floyd lost the fight. May won that first bout fight largely due to his clean punching and higher percentages of jabs and power punching.

Paul Williams was a decent fighter, for a short period. He was massive for the weights he fought, with a ridiculously long reach. Floyd probably would have beat him, but it no doubt would have made for an interesting fight. Was just an awkward style and people wanted to see how they matched up.

Williams had size, height and reach and could throw 100+ punches for 12 rounds. He definitely would have been a problem for Floyd.

I don't know if you're blind or trolling. Williams barely won four rounds. I was a big fan of his but there's no way he won that fight.
