No Surprise! Showtime is clearly happy with their Product as they should be despite fans trying to use OLD Outdated format of Nielsen Ratings as a Measuring Stick for Showtime Success. The focus for them seems to be more about ******ING which is doing great for them and exceeding their expectations

Anyway, great news for PBC Fighters most importantly! It is always about the fighters for me, I WANT to see them make the most money possible since they're the ones in that ring risking it all and the fans are attending and tuning in to see THEM and NOT the Promoter, Manager or Adviser!

As for HBO, I hope they get their stuff together, boxing NEEDS HBO to keep showing it. Even if they go more for Quality over Quantity the sport needs HBO!

Boxing is certainly getting invested in more, but not sure about the ratings. Hard to quantify as the quality of HBO cards are dropping, but both premium networks like most channels are seeing a dip in ratings.

I'm still convinced you work for either a promoter, PBC or Showtime. Your takes on this stuff aren't coming from a place of general interest lol I'm just a lawyer with an MBA so I understand the strategy from a 30,000 foot view. You however, are much more on point. Stop holding out on tickets lol We need that love. Freebies at Barclays have dried up for some time now.

I work for several promoters. Some of whom used to work for PBC. I don't work for Showtime, but I used to. I'm not a lawyer and I don't have an MBA, but I've worked full time in boxing/wrestling/MMA since the 90s and float from group to group, whoever is paying.

It's in my personal interest right now for DAZN to be a slam dunk hit and for PBC to fail, but much to the dismay of others, I am not paid to shill on this site. On this site, I am paid to explain how the business works. So I offer what I can about what PBC's plans have been, even if I don't personally profit from their plans.

Their declining budget is a major factor. Or they would have got Joshua fights, offer SHO Fighters better deals like DAZN are doing.

They cut it because they lost all of the fighters anybody cares about other than a couple fighters who only fight on PPV anyway.

Interest hasn't gone downhill in American boxing, interest has gone downhill in HBO boxing. Big difference. If US interest was down, ESPN wouldn't be all in on boxing, SHO wouldn't be all in on boxing, FOX wouldn't be going all in on boxing, DAZN wouldn't be going all in on boxing in the US, etc. HBO is being pushed out of the sport. They're not leaving by choice. They've been left with no choice. Big difference.

There have been cards on Fox and cards on Bounce throughout the year, both of which are available without cable. Plenty of cards also on FS1, which is basic cable, like ESPN, which Arum constantly refers to as "free TV."

Then you have the premium fights that instead of being on PPV, are on Showtime.

A boxing fan following PBC spends way less money to see all the fights than boxing fans were asking to spend by HBO for all those years. Charging $15 a month for HBO plus $75 for PPV six times a year.

Now, a fan can spend $8.99 a month on Showtime and watch everything else for free.

How many boxing fans dont pay a cable or internet bill?

Be realistic. Free tv is a buzzword, or phrase. There is no free boxing.
