They cut it because they lost all of the fighters anybody cares about other than a couple fighters who only fight on PPV anyway.
Interest hasn't gone downhill in American boxing, interest has gone downhill in HBO boxing. Big difference. If US interest was down, ESPN wouldn't be all in on boxing, SHO wouldn't be all in on boxing, FOX wouldn't be going all in on boxing, DAZN wouldn't be going all in on boxing in the US, etc. HBO is being pushed out of the sport. They're not leaving by choice. They've been left with no choice. Big difference.
They cut the budget which meant they couldn't match Mayweather's offer from Showtime in 2013, which is what started it all off.
You can tell by their recent bidding wars with SHO for Joshua fights, they don't have the money to compete which has been a gradual decline even when they were the dominant boxing broadcaster in the US.
I beg to differ American Boxing is in great health. No Real Media covers Boxing bar the odd CBS Report. Look at all Press Conferences it's usually youtube channels and hoodrat media. No PPV Fighters bar Canelo, it's gone down in popularity in this countryComment

Congratulations to Al Haymon, he beat the mighty once "mighty" HBO.
His plan worked, despite the many people that were against him and his fighters.Comment

I said Mayweather-Pacquiao, that was HBO's main reason for staying in the sport and investing in both Floyd and Manny after De la Hoya retired.
Boxing Viewership is crap apart from Wilder. Majority is under 800K. It does make me think how much Wilder would do on HBO though or CBS given he got 1.2M for both Ortiz and Stivrene 2 on Showtime.
PPV is dead in this country, and majority of boxing cards get rubbish viewership. Let's be truthfulComment

Wasn't the whole point of PBC supposed to be free TV and moving away from the premium networks?? Seems like a bunch of bull****. And now Haymon is trying to make to make guys like Wilder and Spence into PPV stars? Boxing should be moving away from that type of stuff.Comment

If they were planning their exit, three years ago, they would have been out by now. It looks like they will still be in the Boxing buisness and it will be centered around Canelo, with average superfly like cards as shoulder programmingComment

If he becomes really desperate, he will probably advise AJ to fight Wilder first in the US on DAZN.
The problem he has is DAZN is nothing here.Comment

lol DAZN ain't even been launched in America yet and you morons are already calling it dead. And just so you know DAZN ain't just some Eddie Hearn venture. Perform Group (which owns DAZN) is backed by Access Industries an investing group which has very deep pockets. After HBO Boxing fades out over the next few years I predict DAZN will fill some of that void as a major player in American boxing.Comment
