What I've been saying for years is that HBO would get pushed out of boxing. Everyone said I was crazy, but I don't look crazy anymore. Every year that goes by, HBO Boxing grows closer and closer to extinction.

Of course they know the number of cards. They sign a deal saying X number of shows per year. They also start to fill out the programming calendar for network television in Oct-Dec time frame for the following year. That's how network TV works.
