Joshua hasn’t used his size particularly well in that way yet.
Did you just compare this version of Joshua to that version of Wladimir. Someone on this boxing forum needs to take away your boxing card. That Wladimir was very experienced still at the tail end of his prime. Don’t confuse that version of Wladimir with the version that faced Joshua after being inactive over a year and 41 years old. Povetkin has a lot of experience, more than Joshua. And he is technically and fundamentally a better fighter than Joshua. However Joshua has way more potential and upside and should win.

Remember in my initial post here, I never said Joshua shouldn’t win. I said he better be focused, like he says he is, because it’s not an easy fight. Real boxing fans that study the entire game and not just a few fights realize it’s not a walk in the park. If Joshua is on his A game he should win, that’s why he is the betting favorite. I’m not sure he can win with a B or C game against Povetkin.

Joshua doesn't have to exchange. He should use his length and work the left hook-straight right combination. I think once he starts catching Povetkin, it's only a matter of time.
Actually Joshua admitted himself in an interview this year, that he has been hurt in sparring, dropped and hurt earlier in the European World Championships. And guess what, he admitted to David Price, you know the guy Povetkin struggled with. He said David Price was a strong puncher that hurt and dropped him in sparring. Of course we know what happened with Wladimir. His chin is suspect.

So you're saying Price is a big puncher, so is Wladimir, yet to be hurt by them means your chin is suspect? Hmm.

Whyte rattled Joshua and Povetkin, even old Povetkin, is better in every way. So I guess I have to agree

Brits trying to hype up this blatant mismatch. I understand it was a "mando" that Eddie paid the WBA for, but still you cowards should call a bird a bird.

              "He isn't looking past Povetkin"

ANTHONY JOSHUA has revealed he is already looking beyond next opponent Alexander Povetkin as he targets an April 13 bout with Deontay Wilder. The 28-year-old will put his WBO, WBA and IBF heavyweig…

Think you’ve misunderstood my comment. I was agreeing with you! 😂 Can I have my boxing card back?

Essentially I was saying that Wlad used his experience really well in the Povetkin fight. Made the most of his height, weight and reach advantages. Joshua doesn’t do that as well as Wlad (yet) so I think he’ll make it difficult for himself against Povetkin.

Someone mentioned earlier that it’ll be similar to the Parker fight, and I agree with that. But... Povetkin has better boxing IQ than Parker, and will be more inclined to go for it if he’s losing.
