By the way Povetkin has never been stopped before. The Wladimir fight went the distance. He was dropped twice but got up and lasted 12 rounds. And that Wladimir was much younger, 37 years old, than the one that was inactive for over a year and dropped and hurt Joshua at 41 years old.
If I remember correctly, Wlad used his size and weight in that fight well too didn’t he? Leant on Povetkin a lot, took the stamina out of him.

Joshua hasn’t used his size particularly well in that way yet.

Very true, and Povetkin was dropped by a younger Wladimir at 37 years old than the one Joshua faced at 41 years old and being inactive for over a year. Povetkin was dropped twice by Wladimir and Still went 12 rounds. Povetkin has never been stopped before. Not sure why people think it will be an easy win or stoppage for Joshua.

He has a good boxing brain along with the fundamentals and I think that will really cause Joshua issues.

He doesn’t strike me as a fighter that’s suddenly gotten old, or has a poor chin or stamina... so could be a rough night for Joshua. Solid win if he comes through it (I’d say as good as the Ortiz win - others will disagree and I’m sure!)

The other thing to mention is that Povetkin is sparring Danny Dubois in preparation, which is a really decent fit for Joshua’s style.
Exactly, not sure why people think this is an easy win or an easy KO win for Joshua.

And here's a brief bio of one of Frank's opponents, Floyd Cummings:
When Floyd "Jumbo" Cummings was 17, he was convicted of murder and sentenced to prison for 50-75 years. He took up boxing while he was in prison and became a good amateur boxer. He was allowed to leave prison several times to fight in amateur matches. Cummings wanted to try out for the 1976 Olympic team, but prison inmates were ruled ineligible.

Cummings was paroled in May 1979 and turned professional the following month. After winning 15 of 16 pro fights, Cummings was chosen to be Joe Frazier's opponent for his December 1981 comeback fight. Cummings and Frazier, who was ending a five-year retirement, fought to a ten-round draw.

Frazier wisely went back into retirement, and Cummings went winless for the rest of his career, losing five straight and finishing with a record of 15-6-1.

Cummings was convicted of armed robbery and kidnapping in 1984, and returned to prison for 12 more years.

It’s going the distance. I don’t see Joshua stopping him. The guy has never been stopped. Especially not stopping him in 6 rounds. Wishful thinking.

I agree. Price is no world beater, but he won a tough, competitive fight. Truthfully, I thought he looked better than Joshua that night.

But in Joshuas defense, Joseph Parker is extremely awkward.

Same here. I think it's the reaction I want to see from Hearn more than me wanting to see AJ lose ( like you say other than him dodging the Wilder fight). The fallout could be epic to see in post fight press conferences. I have been wanting AJ to win his fights so we could see him face Wilder, but now that doesn't seem like it's gonna happen it wouldn't bother me if AJ got stretched by Povetkin. If AJ is going to win he's gonna have to be smart about his approach and not get over aggressive offensively and leave that chin open for business. Otherwise he'll have a good night's rest in the square circle

Yes, he SHOULD. But I really don't think he's going to get Povetkin outta there with one shot.

If they exchange, it could be problematic for Joshua, who's chin I feel, is suspect.

Joshua is getting underrated. I don't think his chin is suspect at all. His stamina maybe. But he's gritty. And he's only going to get better.

Joshua doesn't have to exchange. He should use his length and work the left hook-straight right combination. I think once he starts catching Povetkin, it's only a matter of time.
