Solis wasn't a bum, he couldn't stop eating cheese burgers and self-destructed once he felt he had it made. Not sure when all that went down, but I'm sure Solis wasn't the fat pile we saw in the Tony Thompson fight when they fought.

Either way in the bigger picture even if he was 2nd or 3rd to Solis, etc... in the Cuban ams system of all palces I don't see how that makes him a "bad" am. Maybe overrated if anything.

Lastly wasn't Joshua's olympic gold medal in dispute with that fight he was with the Italian?

Looks like he won alot of stuff wouldnt you say?
Joshua fanatics will belittle every good fighter that Wilder has faced and beaten. And it might've worked...only if Meldonium and Ostarine didn't exist lol. Convoluted thought I admit LBoogs, but you catch my drift lmao. Good answer lol...

The man was a well decorated Amateur boxer, you act like its easy to accomplish what he did...Cuba had a lot of skilled talented fighters and that is why he never made the Olympics..It is easy to make an Olympic team when you have an easier path because the talent you are around is not as good. Give the guy his props, out of millions of people who box in the world he was elite

You can put too much stock in what people achieve or don't in the amateurs. Go look through medalists from major competitions over the years, the vast majority don't do anything as a pro. The amateur game when Ortiz was around was very different to what it is now. The scoring was very different then, so with the small number of rounds, you could box in a certain style and rack up points. It was suited to some styles more than others.

Terence Crawford didn't do much on the international amateur scene. He didn't make the olympics because he lost to Sadam Ali and others, yet Crawford is one of the most skilled fighters in the pro game. David Price won an olympic medal, Audley Harrison won a gold and look how their pro careers turned out.
