How good the talking is in the build up is way more important than how good a fight is.

The fight itself isn't what draws. It's the fans' imaginations about how great it's going to be. Even if Fury loses a ho hum decision, he can say he was still a little rusty. He can say the judges were biased. He can say a million things. Wilder going to the UK for a rematch would be a big fight even if the first fight isn't great. It's also the fight that would pay both fighters the most except for fighting AJ.

The talking is what sells the first fight and it will be epic for sure but the fact is Tyson is a dull fighter. His fights are as bad as watching paint dry.

There is a good chance there isn't a rematch. If Wilder clips him in 5 or less there will be no call for a rematch plus the Breazeale mandatory will be due. If it is a dull decision the only angle will be to have the rematch in the UK but there won't be a big demand for it.

I look forward to the build up myself. I think they will talk themselves to 250-300k ppv buys which is a good number for them and should get them around 8million or so a piece

When top fighters face each other, it's often as dull as watching paint dry. Doesn't mean a rematch won't draw. Although you would typically need controversial score cards for there to be immense interest in an immediate rematch.

If he clips him in 5, there would probably be an interim fight before a rematch, but Wilder and Fury are two of the biggest stars in the division, the two biggest talkers in the division, and there isn't anybody they can fight other than each other to make this kind of money if AJ isn't going to be reasonable in negotiations.

As for the mandatory, it's an in house mandatory. They can be delayed for a very long time.

if Fury gets clippedninside 5 Wilder will want 80-20 pese split in rematch and fury would be able to fight in UK for more than that

Wilder/Fury is a 50/50 split and both fighters have the option for a rematch. The rematch would take place wherever it would make the most money. I don't know the exact split for the rematch, but the loser of the first fight would likely be entitled to way more than 20% in the second fight. Likely 60/40 or 65/35 split in the second fight.

Very dumb for Wilder's side to give Fury's side an option for a rematch. He is the champ and this is a voluntary defense. And not like Fury has a Mayweather or Pacquiao type of name. Did Warren actually say both sides had a rematch clause?

Eddie is probably thinking better Fury than Joshua. Eddie wants to make some money first, he does not want that risk. What Eddie really wants is to hype Whyte enough to make the extremely profitable (for Eddie) and low risk Whyte /Joshua rematch.

Both sides have agreed to avoid discussing rematch clauses publicly. There's nothing to be gained and it just takes away from the drama of a fight when the public knows it's a two fight deal.

AJ made a voluntary defense against Klitsckho and still agreed to a two way rematch clause. Very common in fights of this size.

Wilder was able to get this fight with Fury because of the respect he showed him in negotiations. Fury knows he would have made way more against Joshua, but Joshua treated him like a chump and Fury is a very prideful man. Wilder offering 50/50 with mutual rematch, and treating Fury as a fellow champion and not a voluntary, is how this deal got done so quickly.

Klitschko was a bigger name than what Fury is now. And Wilder would have the Joshua fight lined up in April. If Joshua had no belt and a rematch was granted to him even if he lost, then then fine. Don't agree with Wilder's side giving one here though.
