    It's far from ******.

Fury has a built-in excuse and a rematch doesn't necessarily have to be the very next fight for either guy.

It makes sense because besides being the right thing by both men, it makes financial sense in giving leverage to the winner (and loser) in a negotiation with another heavyweight who may all of a sudden be interested in finally facing Wilder or Fury.

No, it would have made more sense with Wilder having the leverage of having either the rematch or the Joshua fight. Now THAT would have been smart. Assuming he wins of course. If he lost, he was always going to get a rematch as he was the champ making a voluntary defense. To me, it's not even bad if the first fight is good and they rematch, but it lessens Wilder's leverage a bit. He could go into negotiations with Joshua and ask for a certain split and say if not, I got this 20+ million payday waiting for me with the Fury rematch.

With both men having a rematch clause, both Wilder and Fury have that option.

Have what option? I'm speaking from Wilder's perspective here not Fury's. If Wilder wins, and he wants the Joshua fight then it won't even matter if Fury exercises the rematch clause. Wilder had more leverage here than Fury and could have negotiated a deal where only he would have a rematch clause if he lost, not Fury.

Oh well, if the fight is a good one then all good. Run it back. But just saying...........

Wot does fast eddie have to do with these fights?

Eddie Chambers hasn't been relevant since Wlad put him face down ass up back in like 2010.

              Heh sorry couldn't resist.

But yeah I think Eddie dropped the ball big time.

He could have had both undefeated fury and wilder fights. Now he's devalued one if those fights. Not so much if fury loses as he had built in excuse of still being rusty. But if wilder loses?

Damn there goes a cool thirteen million or so.

Eddie is the biggest joke in boxing.

All the talk of making Jacobs a star?

All that talk of big signings at DAZN?

                The Wilder fiasco.

Fast Eddie is the biggest douche in boxing history

The guy was sure Brezeale was signed and sealed as Wilder's next fight, so with that level of arrogance no way he would have sign it.

Just watching an interview he did today, he's still not convinced the fight happens this year. I respect how he tried to twist it in saying a Wilder win and good PPV numbers makes the Joshua fight four times bigger. I legit laughed at that statement.

And AJ was a bigger name than Wilder is now. AJ wouldn't have gotten the Klitschko fight without a two fight deal and Wilder wouldn't have gotten the Fury fight without a two fight deal. Welcome to boxing.

Don't agree with Wilder's side giving one here though.
Thank you for your uneducated inexperienced amateur opinion.

Wilder could have fought Breazeale in a fight that wouldn't excite the public or he could try to become lineal champion in the biggest fight of his career with the only downside being a rematch, which would still be bigger than anything else available.

So what exactly is the problem here?

He's not fighting AJ in April regardless. He's moved on. AJ is with DAZN now. DAZN can't pay what the fight is worth.
