Exactly! Which is crazy because Oscar used to be one of the most likable people when he was a fighter and then (very) early in his promoting career. "******* is a helluva drug."

And as you said, he has mostly been disingenuous with boxing fans. So he just comes across as a phony guy and unfortunately people connect the dots with Canelo. With that being said, Canelo has made a lot of money with Oscar steering his career so they will be together for awhile.

As I said before "If one of Canelo's opponents had failed the test" you wouldn't be accepting excuses. Learn to live with the fact that you love the boxer more than the sport, the rest of us know it..the only ones who don't get it or acknowledge it are you.
Canelo isnt my fav boxer bro relax. Clenbuterol is an old topic we already diacussed all that. The fight is on... Rip ggg sept 15

Canelo has fans and critics on both sides of the boarder tell the truth. Plus, regardless of what you say... Numbers dont lie, the man sells... Alot

He loss to Trinidad. And that wasn’t the same Chavez in his prime before he lost to Frankie Randall. Vargas is not a P4P great or Future HOF’er. And we aren’t talking about Olympics, I am talking about his professional career which is what Oscar mentioned in the article. (2) great wins, Quartey & Whitaker period.

And the really great fighters in history don’t have a total of (6) losses against other great fighters IN THEIR PRIME. And great fighters historically avenge losses also. You don’t get extra credit for challenging great fighters and losing to them.

If that’s the case, let’s just go ahead and put Fernando Vargas in the HOF right now and call him a GREAT FIGHTER. He has only (5) losses total to Shane Mosley twice, Ricardo Mayorga, Felix Trinidad, and Oscar De La Hoya. But he has just as many great wins as Oscar against Ike Quartey and Winky Wright. And he has some other decent wins against Yori Boy Campas, Raul Marquez, and Wilfredo Rivera.

I could make the argument that “professionally” Vargas WINS are just as good as Oscars. I’m just talking about wins which is what Oscar brought up when he alluded to having a bunch of great wins. But neither one is great to me.
lol You must be a real brave, die hard, no holds barred, Rambo, super hero type, testosterone filled macho man type dude who can do push ups on his pinky fingers to criticize the accomplishments of a Boxing Hall of Famer that won championships in 6 weight divisions "professionally". Unless Im responding back to the late great P4P Sugar Ray Robinson(who had 19 defeats btw), your opinions about De La Hoya don't mean much.

If you are a De La Hoya hater no matter what I say you will try to discredit him so im done. Just remember you are on a boxing website trying to trash the resume of a ceritified boxing Hall of Famer and Olympic gold medalist and one of the most financally successful fighters of all time during and after his boxing career. He must have been doing something right...

He is not neccesarily remembered for beating everyone he fought but he is more remembered for NEVER ducking a fight. He fought ALL of the very best and to have only 6 losses after a resume like his is a great accomplishment.

In his defense He was screwed against Trinidad which you even admit to and he was screwed in the 2nd mosely fight. Both fights he should have won. IMO Chavez was still Chavez when De la hoya beat him, He outworked Whitaker, He KO'd his rival fernando Vargas, and he beat a prime Ike Quartey. And this is all after winning Gold in the olympics!

say what you want about the fishnets and shady promotion issues but De la Hoya was a G when it came to actually fighting. Cant take that away from him.
Agree with your comment 100%. Just shows how money is now his top priority as opposed to nationalistic pride or boxing heart, both of which he displayed in bucket fulls as a fighter

Right, so if we ran analytics on what boxer you spend the most time on it wouldn't be a landslide for Canelo right? If it doesn't go your way, pay the man his respect.

In the first fight, Canelo fans were cheering wildly during his entrance. After the fight they were booing him, but yeah they'll probably still buy tickets and PPV for Canelo fights. Mexico treats white Mexican celebrities like gods.

how could you possibly know that ?

you interviewed each and every one of them ?

                      bollocks..... cool story bro

                      I got a better story.....

Golovkin fans are mostly pacfans/casuals who needed a new hero..... and like Pacquiao, Golovkin has given reasonable knowledgeable fans PLENTY of reasons not to support him..... the lies and the cherry-picking being the first that spring to mind..... the blatant disrespect for the sport/fighters being another

Mexicans should feel scornful of Golovkin for treating them like gullible clowns when he pulled that "Mexican warrior doe" bullshht

                      it is OBVIOUSLY a gimmick
