Kovalev - Biggest hypejob of all times?

Ward looked emaciated in that fight and had no legs. Looked like a completely different man the second time around. You either choose not to see it or simply can't. And I won't even address that last statement you made, I'm trying really hard to be respectful there.Come on now, Ward signed a 3 fight deal with HBO in Oct '15 fought Brand & Barrera both at 175 over the next year before facing Kovalev in Nov '16. How many tune up's he need to get "acclimated" to his new found weight class? Then 8 more months for the rematch with nothing in-between. Was rusty in first fight but not in second with longer break?
Yeah, both fights were very similar, they both waited for him to gass out until they pulled the axe on him. If you could speak French, you would've heard Mark Ramsey tell Alvarez to not attack until the 8th. It may have looked close to some, but it was simply part of the game plan.Even the 2nd fight with Kovalev was very close, going back & forth through 7rnds (that's 19 rounds now against Ward that were very even) until Andre landed that huge right hand, very similar to the Alvarez one this past weekend which changed the whole complexion of each outcome.
Kovalev is NOT Ward's greatest accomplishment, Froch is. HOF resume and a superior fighter in pretty much every single aspect of boxing.Comment

I hate to day this because Roy is my favorite fighter of all time but you're an idiot. For obvious reasons.Who's his best win?
A 73 year old Bhop?
Living off one knockdown of Ward in a fight he was completely schooled in after round 5.
Then proceeded to get nearly ko'd by a pillow puncher in Ward and QUIT in the rematch.
Didn't take a rocket scientist to work out if Ward could hurt him and make him quit what would someone who could actually throw a hurtful punch do to him?
He's lucky Chickenson ducked him or else he'd have ended the hypejob there and then.
Definition of a hypejob was "Krusher"

A fighter who never ducked top championship level fighters and happened to eat a good punch and lost by TKO to one of them is now a bum, huh? I guess real champions should fight guys ranked at 50 instead of top 5, instead, to keep their W and not become "hypejobs"...Comment

People also forget that he was winning the 2nd Ward fight before the stoppage And I had him winning 4 rounds to 1 in this fight when he got stopped. Hype job my ass!Comment

I can guarantee that I have a higher IQ than you.Originally posted by KingHippoI do you cope with life with such a low IQ? I'm actually curious.
But back on topic.....how do you cope with a sh@t account on here that clearly shows nobody on here agrees with you or gives a f@ck what you think? I'm not really giving a f@ck either but figure I'd at least ask.
Ha ha ha! What a Fkn MoronComment

Asking in a way like, is Kovalev a HOF type fighter, or does he have great wins, no he does not.
But if you look at who he beat and who they were at the time, and how they were seen by the boxing community, he does have some good wins.
Gabriel Campillo - He was seen as an upset type of guy, a real live underdog who kept getting the short end in close decisions. Campillo was liked by the boxing community at the time, and Kovalev stopping him early was a surprise to everyone. It was Kovalev's sort of breakthrough fight.
Nathan Cleverly - Undefeated, but not much to go by other than the Bellew and Murat fights. He was seen as a "good" fighter who was coming up. Kovalev easily destroyed him.
Bernard Hopkins - I wholeheartedly believed Hopkins would outbox Kovalev. I was wrong and Kovalev beat him clearly. His best win.
Jean Pascal - At the time he had losses to Hopkins and Froch only, obviously nothing to be ashamed of. This is one of Kovalev's best wins, probably second best. Pascal had close fights with Hopkins, Froch, beat Dawson, Diaconu, Bute, Gonzalez, also while Alvarez won the fight, he didn't look all that against Pascal, I had it 8-4 Alavare because he was busier. Pascal definitely gave a better account of himself vs Alvarez after his KO losses to Kovalev, than Kovalev gave after his losses to Ward. Good fighter that doesn't really get appreciated it because of wildness. He's always competitive though.
Isaac Chilemba - Awkward style, hard to look good against. Kovalev didn't look good in this fight, but he managed to win by decision. Chilemba is not great but he is no cake walk. I think this was a good win for Kovalev, although not a good performance.Comment

I don't think so. I think Kovalev just has flaws and they were exposed in the Ward fights. He gets frustrated with boxers but he learned how to cope with it better and was doing pretty good in the Alvarez fight starting in the 4th once he started to walk him down. Unfortunately he got caught with a good punch and there's nothing you can do about that. That's boxing for you. All three judges had Kovalev up on the scorecards but that one right hand changed the entire fight. It can happen to anyone.Comment
