Isn't the promoter of the guy who should also be looking to prove he is the best trying to maximize the amount of money that Joshua makes. This fight will far exceed the revenue from all previous Joshua fights. At this stage, he has 5 months to decide if he wants to sign that contract or hold out for a better deal. Not sure why you are making such a big deal out of fight not being signed 9+ months in advance. What was the last fight that was signed that far ahead of the fight?
