How does the IBF sanction Spence/Ocampo but not GGG/Vanes?

You have to be taking a piss. Number 2 IBF have been consistently coming up with the ****tiest challengers they can find. They are the only one who enforce rules which is a good thing but hardly anyone knows the mandatory they pick and it happens in nearly all weight classes.fans need to understand there is no such thing as being the champion of the world. there are four leagues the world recognizes as major titles and each has pros and cons.
you have articulated very well the pros and cons of the ibf. and the prestige of being ibf world champion should be based accordingly.
if ggg didnt want to live up to the responsibilities of holding three major titles, that was his choice, but he left the ibf no choice.
tyson fury was double mandatory with zero obligation to offer a rematch clause. he chose to sell a rematch clause. he left the ibf no choice.
every time you analyze the four leagues, the pros and cons lead to the same result. the wbc is the main title, the wbo is the least important, and the wba is ruining itself with the super titles. putting the ibf at a solid #2.Comment

Name someone better? Jessie Vargas. Anyway, they need to over haul that garbage that they call a top 20 list of contenders before you can even think of any of the fighters in that organization with the exception of Vargas.Comment

Selling Ocampo? You're saying that as if I'm trying to sell Ocampo as a good opponent. I just said hes' not a good opponent. I'm strictly speaking on what was said about sanctioning and Vanes. It's not the same situation at all. I even defended Vanes as a last minute deal. But, I don't think Spence needs to be slammed over taking his mando or that Ocampo is as bad as a guy who didn't fight in 2 years, was from a smaller weight class, has several losses, etc.
I'm not bashing either guy over these fights but I think the thread feels like, "I'm going to try to seem fair so I'll give Spence a hard time too."
Redd, I just said that I wasn't coming at you. Im not even bashing Spence really. Im slamming the IBF. I slammed them for ranking both Derevyanchenko and Ocampo as high as they were/are.
The IBF is a **** organization and nobody seems to want to admit this **** talking about they stick to their rules. The IBF are lucky that these one of these inferior guys hasn't been hurt in a long drawn out fight.Comment

How did Jessie Vargas pursue the IBF mandatory position? He just fought a WBC eliminator. The problem is you have no idea how boxing operates.
If you want to be IBF mandatory, you have to pursue the position. Fight for a regional title. Ask to be ranked. Agree to fight an eliminator when asked, etc.Comment

I understand that you're trying to shut down the conversation because the facts are exposing your position, but try to have an adult discussion like a reasonable human.
Nobody is forcing you to recognize the IBF title. Feel free to stop watching IBF fights. That's your choice.
If you want to be the champion of the IBF, you have to fight your mandatories in a timely manner. Facts of life.Comment

Boxing has four major leagues. Those leagues can't force anybody to fight in their league. The IBF ranks the best fighters willing to fight for the IBF. They order eliminators between the best fighters willing to fight eliminators. You have to be taking a piss. Number 2 IBF have been consistently coming up with the ****tiest challengers they can find. If a great fighter like Spence or GGG is IBF champion, a lot of top fighters are going to avoid pursuing the IBF title. Top guys aren't lining up to get beat up by Spence for 25% of the pot. Top guys aren't lining up to get beat up by GGG for 25% of the pot.
This is how boxing works.Comment

Then they should take a look back at their system of picking mandatories. Maybe add a few more steps to their eliminator.Boxing has four major leagues.
