If he's fighting Saunders, the fight has lost a bit of it's importance without the IBF.

It has lost a lot of importance but in a vacuum it's still a bigger and better fight than Derevyanchenko would be.

The Ring has been a joke since De La Hoya bought it. Part of the old Ring editorial and ranking staff are who founded the TBRB in the first place, specifically because Ring doesn't follow its own rules and split with the lineal title.

According to Ring's own rules which they disregarded when Canelo got busted, any positive PED test should cause any fighter to be stripped of the title and dropped from the rankings.

Even the current Ring editorial and rankings panels voted to strip Canelo, but they were overruled by a PR guy.

So don't try to tell me about the Ring. De La Hoya killed their credibility and now their belt is as worthless as the WBA Regular title.
