golovkin must be laughing at his haters on this site (if he can read it that is p). Hes making millions with canelo regardless if its 35 or 40 or 45 split, he knows he has 35 in the bank and is negotiating for more and the idiots here are up in arms

he drops a belt for a payday, wow what the ****, thats normal, a belt is nothing really, hes at the end of his career, cash is king, when u make a big payday u just want another, im sure its very addictive

and this thing about ward all the time wtf, ward is not in his weightclass, ward is the most protected fighter on the planet, he brings nothing to the table cash wise and most likely will just injure u if he starts fouling, headbutting lowblowing or whatever if the fight is not going like he wants, he cant lose in the states, golovkin would have been a total fool to even think of a fight with him

That's about the long and the short of it. The only value or meaning the sanctioning orgs and their trinkets hold IMO is that they require their titlists to fight the guys they say they should once in a while. The circumstances on this occasion were kinda unusual but nonetheless, you fight your mandos or you get stripped.

did he say no to wade and bring up a fighter from a lower weight class?

or did the wade fight get made asap when tureano johnson got injured?

stop with the excuses makes you look pathetic

According to Ring's own rules which they disregarded when Canelo got busted, any positive PED test should cause any fighter to be stripped of the title and dropped from the rankings.

Even the current Ring editorial and rankings panels voted to strip Canelo, but they were overruled by a PR guy.

So don't try to tell me about the Ring. De La Hoya killed their credibility and now their belt is as worthless as the WBA Regular title.

Correct. Anything to put a negative spin on GGG. Doesn't it make you wonder why a guy like GGG gets all this hate in the first place? What's not to like? The guy is always respectful, tries to fight the best competition and always, always puts on a compelling fight where he tries to do damage. Like I said before, success breeds hate and always will.

haters gona hate, meantime golovkin & canelo should look forward to another bumper payday if all goes to plan, ped canelo should have to move on split but being the so called a side he might get away with it, again

                      Fantastic argument there.

Especially when their PR guy can overrule the people who actually know about boxing
the Ratings Panel, which had voted to hold off on making a decision on Alvarez until the NAC completed its investigation and made an official ruling on April 18, was nearly unanimous in advising the Editorial Board (which includes managing editor Brian Harty, associate editor Tom Gray and Yours Truly) to strip the Mexican star of our 160-pound title and drop him from the rankings. The Editorial Board agreed with the Ratings Panel’s vote.

                      ...

THE RING’s policy was challenged by the magazine’s newly appointed publisher, Stefan Friedman...

                      ...

I understand and agree with many (but not all) of Friedman’s points, especially No. 6, which I believe to be true, but the fact for the matter is that the Canelo-Golovkin rematch was scheduled to take place in Nevada, and the commission of that state had to follow their rules. That’s all the Editorial Board wanted to do. But we have been overruled.

And if we can’t follow our own rules, we should not have those rules as they currently exist. THE RING’s PED Policy as it has been published in the magazine since 2012 is now defunct. (If another RING-rated fighter or RING champ tests positive in the coming weeks, what can we do? The chances that the fighter will admit to willfully doping are slim and none – and Slim left town, as Don King used to say – but if we drop/strip him, we can’t fault the boxer or his or her representatives for claiming that we are being unfair and biased for Golden Boy-promoted fighters.)
                      https://www.******.com/535463-ring-r...erdue-updates/

Rather than enforce their own rules, a PR guy just decided to change the rules on the spot against the wishes of the rankings panel and editorial board. Just to protect Canelo.

The Ring is a joke. Any attempt to rationalize this behavior makes you a joke as well.
