  • Another Eddie Hearn IFL interview. Nothing really changed. September doesn't work for Showtime. Fight will get done, but now a question of timing...

    Wilder talk from here:

    • Wilder has said many times in the past that he would be willing to go to the UK to fight AJ. Everything else is settled. The only thing stopping the fight from happening is where the fight takes place. If Wilder really wants to fight AJ as badly as he claims he should fight him in the UK. AJ is obviously not going to fight Wilder in the USA. The ball really is in Wilder's court. He can go to the UK and try to take AJ's belts or stay home and continue to be the WBC champion only. If Wilder does fight AJ in the UK he should demand a neutral referee. Judges probably won't matter in a fight so unlikely to go the full 12 rounds.

That would immediately give Wilder a ton more leverage than he deserves. Right move, AJ and Eddie, right move. Twitter is not the platform where to negotiate one of the biggest unification HW fights in many years. AJ got himself the right team. That is more than I can say about Wilder and his 45 co-managers, advisors and promoters, who are pulling him in every direction and he just doesn't have enough business sense how badly his career is being managed. A knock-out artist, big mouth, big personality - he should be mainstream in the US. The only PR to speak of that he has to date is driving a pace car driver on Nascar. But even that did nothing notable. Well, maybe except that a few rednecks asked: "Who is that Wilder?".

You might be alone in the ring when the bell goes off, but your carreer is much more that your in-ring presence. Wilder just doesn't get that and can't make a connection between his virtual anonymity in the US and the leverage he has over AJ, who, has become a household name in the UK and will get a massive traction in the US when the time is right.
The percentage of the NASCAR audience that is African American: 2%.

Its also listed 1 out of 2 are over 55 years old .

In short Nascar is the worst possible sport they could have tried getting publicity in ,they were definetley asking Wilder who ? And forgot about him after their first beer .

Im from a huge race car fan state and these type of ppl know shyte about boxing .

His team are idiots they do absolutely no research . lol

Their are no English People in London left, it's full of blacks and asians. Unless you go into Central London or posh areas in West London. Everywhere else in London is African/Carribean and Asian Dominated.

Unless you were trying to reach outside his core market to try to grow his fan base in a different demographic? In which case why not?

Hes not that robotic tbh, he's not a bad boxer at all but unification in UK is some small.time stuff for the sake of keeping his home town vibe, extend yourself Joshua, beat the Lion in his lair and earn more money and plaudits
Tbh if i were Joshua would you risk it in Vegas ? Crazy **** goes on their and this is Joshua's biggest and toughest fight ? It will be a massive change to his schedule, such as where is he going to train in the US ? Media Arrangements ? Unfamiliar territory in regards to food, drug testing etc. So i understand why he would want in the UK, however for 50M Guranteed and money on top i would definitely risk it e****ally if i was as confident as AJ is of beating Wilder

That market would be 55 year old Caucasians ?

Good luck with that , you would catch them watching WWE re runs of The Ultimate Warrior vs Hulk Hogan then tuning into boxing .

How do you know this? I've not seen any details on Hearns latest offer bar the suggested dates? I've also not seen how much Wilder's offer was going to pay Wilder so I'm no sure where you're getting your figures?

You dont understand the US Market. Boxing in the US is the equivalent to Womens Boxing in the UK, it's small, niche and attracts a small portion of viewership. Wilder v Joshua however is a fight which can generate mainstream audience cos of the belts, undisputed, both heavyweights, big and large, english speaking and Wilder's Chance to become massive as well as Joshua. Joshua and Wilder are both having to take a heavy paycut because Femi wants this fight in the Uk

You will know this market far better than me. My point was just that when you have a product that sells well in a certain demographic but your seeking to grow sales you often target other markets which you may feel aren't currently being served.
