Manny Pacquiao landing flush shots that dropped world champions yet not even wobbling The Hornet was yet another upset.

I commented just after the fight that people were overlooking Horn's ring intelligence. He wasn't trying to avoid getting hit, he was trying to throw Manny's combos off - and he did. He never once ate all of the shots of a combo like Margacheato did. You take Manny's combo away, you take away his confidence and he starts making mistakes. That's why he lost.

The only reason people say Manny was "robbed" is that those people only pay attention to punch stats and Horn's face after Round 9. They completely ignore Manny getting thrown around like a child, unable to land a pure combo, and getting frustrated in at least 6 rounds with not being able to accumulate on the Hornet.
Part and parcel of the home town decision was Horn getting away with wrestling moves. Let's see him try that in a USA jurisdiction, he'll be at risk of disqualification or dropping a couple points from warnings. I saw MP outland this guy and outbox him. Horn won it on effective aggression but it was only effective because he got away with stuff that should have been penalised by an honest/ competent ref.

There goes another reason I like this kid, he doesnt underestimate a "champion" because fans do. Horn is as awkward & tough as they come, using that bullying toughness to earn a sloppy win over an old but game Pac Man......Horn is gonna be in Buds face ALL NIGHT. But Bud should be stronger and bigger now (he has room to fill out) at 147, and Horn has yet to deal with and adjust to someone as sniper deadly accurate as Bud....A Sloppy fight might make Bud look spectacular providing Horn doesnt go the Klitschko hugfest route.....

Broner vs Horn I would understand this debate. There is no Cinderella storyline here. TC beats the DNA out of Horn.

I laugh at people who say Manny is "shot". He looked all the way skilled and talented as he did against Vargas. Even if he did undertrain, you couldn't half tell. The fact of the matter is, Horn was a ring bully and it showed. It made me question whether Manny could have handled Chino, frankly.

Margacheato couldn't get away with being a ring bully because he lacks ring intelligence against pure boxers. He doesn't know what to do. That's why Mosley walked through him.
It is honestly so hard to tell sometimes whether a punch is a scoring punch or not for me. I do know that I saw Horn dictating the pace of the fight, and taking the fight to Manny for the most part. There were just many of those rounds where I feel Horn got the better of the action, but perhaps you are correct about the punch stats.

So good points...should be a good fight! Good test for Crawford anyway. He surpassed expectations against Indongo. If he can do similarly against Horn I will be very impressed.

Horn isn't as bad as Boxing Scene makes him out to be.

He made the Olympics and won 2 fights before losing in the quarterfinals (https://www.sports-reference.com/oly...ff-horn-1.html).

He also gave Pacquiao a tougher fight than most. Outside of Mayweather and Marquez, who's given Pacquiao a bigger challenge than Horn since Pacquiao lost to Morales in 2005?

Horn's downfall vs. Crawford will be his chin. He's been down vs. Bailey and Funeka previously and was badly hurt vs. Pacquiao. Crawford is in peak form and will finish him.

I can't disagree with you on this point...Horn did fight very rough and being at home did allow him probably some leeway in that regard. For me I like a guy who fights a little rough/dirty like Horn. I do not enjoy it when fighting that way seems to be a fighter's only gameplan (Ward and Hopkins come to mind there.)

If Bud can't "influence" this guy with his power he will be in a fight.
Manny is not the puncher everyone here thinks he is. Stopping guys like Hatton doesn't mean a thing plus that was a long time ago. This kid threw Manny around like he was a doll.
Bud you better get some body work started by the second round and work this kid hard and often. This guy reminds me of the old "spoilers" that at times are a pain in azz to handle.

If Horn handles Bud's shots this could get down and dirty real quick!

I believe in investing in body work. I think Crawford is a very good fighter, his ability to dance with his left or right is unorthodox and will most certainly get him into serious trouble someday... I’m betting bud will win...

We’ve seen bud buckle at least once, if not more than once. He fought the Cuban midget, and eventually stopped him...

                    Peace ray
