Yeah you make some good points; I only noticed Horn's movement when I watched the fight on replay. So I'll have to watch it again and look for the things you mentioned too.
I commented just after the fight that people were overlooking Horn's ring intelligence. He wasn't trying to avoid getting hit, he was trying to throw Manny's combos off - and he did. He never once ate all of the shots of a combo like Margacheato did. You take Manny's combo away, you take away his confidence and he starts making mistakes. That's why he lost.
The only reason people say Manny was "robbed" is that those people only pay attention to punch stats and Horn's face after Round 9. They completely ignore Manny getting thrown around like a child, unable to land a pure combo, and getting frustrated in at least 6 rounds with not being able to accumulate on the Hornet.
And yeah - the biggest reason for me giving Horn a chance in this fight was how he was able to boss Manny around physically. If he can turn it into a brawl and make Crawford cautious, I think it will be a similar matchup to Pac/Horn, Lara/Hurd, and Loma/Linares. Crawford is very skilled, but Horn is a big strong guy and weight classes exist for a reason.
I will add that usually Compubox punch stats match up to what I see in the ring. However in the Horn/Pac fight I just have no clue how Horn was not given credit for landing many more punches. In almost every round he had moments where he essentially bullied Pac to the ropes and unloaded on him. Granted, not all of those punches landed clean, and some probably missed scoring entirely, but a lot got through. A lot more than I think he was given credit for.Comment

Anyone who beats Pac is a tough fight, but Bud will make it look easy. Style wise he's all wrong for Horn. Horn won't go early, but he will be outboxed and punished for his lunges and attempts at trying to show that hes stronger than BudLast edited by Raggamuffin; 06-02-2018, 01:52 PM.Comment

Horn is no pushover but Crawford is a whole different animal, and Horns confidence in being able to out-muscle his opponents is going to get him knocked out badly vs Terrence.Comment

The difference is that Bud is a body puncher and Horn will find out why Bud is the best fighter pfp in the world.Comment

Try and sell this one sided beat down!Terence Crawford is well aware most boxing fans and media think he'll easily expose Jeff Horn on June 9. Crawford commonly is considered one of the top two boxers, pound-for-pound, in the sport. The former undisputed 140-pound champion dominated an undefeated title-holder in his last fight, before knocking out Julius Indongo in the third round August 19 in Lincoln, Nebraska.

I had no problem with CompuBox results. Manny was effective at deflecting many of the shots that appeared to land on him, and a lot of the shots that it looked like Horn deflected, Manny subtly got around the guard and tagged him, or threw as if he was going low but went high instead.Yeah you make some good points; I only noticed Horn's movement when I watched the fight on replay. I laugh at people who say Manny is "shot". He looked all the way skilled and talented as he did against Vargas. Even if he did undertrain, you couldn't half tell. The fact of the matter is, Horn was a ring bully and it showed. It made me question whether Manny could have handled Chino, frankly.
Margacheato couldn't get away with being a ring bully because he lacks ring intelligence against pure boxers. He doesn't know what to do. That's why Mosley walked through him.Comment

This does seem like a poor mans version of Floyd vs Arturo Gatti or Ricky Hatton. Or Manny vs Hatton maybe. Either way yea I don't see this going well for Horn.Comment
