GGG didn't renage on anything. He signed a contract and would have stuck to it if Canelo hadn't broken that contract by testing positive for PEDs then withdrawing.

And his comments about that were no more hysterical than we've heard from many other fighters whose opponents failed PED tests either before or after fights.

Apart from those 2 points, I agree with your comments.
