This is exactly what counterpunchers do. Pac was a little dynamo but noway is he throwing 1,000 punches vs someone with Canelo's ring IQ, his feints and counterpunching ability.

Throwing that volume vs a static Clottey and a straight line pressure fighter that doesn't move his head in Margarito is one thing but he's not going to be able to vs Canelo who will be making subtle movements, setting traps and hitting him harder than he's ever been hit before.
You act like Canelo at 152 in 2013 is the same as Canelo at 2018 at 160 LMAO. Floyd that Canelo fought is so drained that Andre Ward noted int the weigh in that Canelo must ave probably dehydrated himself to the point that it is dangerous.

      Genaro Hernandez

      Jose Luis Castillo

      Arturo Gatti

      Zab Judah

      Carlos Baldomir

      Victor Ortiz

      Canelo

      Maidana

Pac stops them all, except Maidana and Canelo who would both lose on the scorecards.

Gatti, Baldomir and Ortiz would take career ending beatings. They're all tailor made for someone like Pac.

Walking backwards is what your considering as movement? ***, some of you are more clueless that I thought. The movement he'd need to counter pacquiao would be dashes or stutter steps to keep or gain the distance he wants vs a fast energetic pacquiao, that's how marquez did it, that's how floyd did it. Golovkin doesnt use his feet to feint, or quickly gain a position, not anymore anyway. Not to mention he was lying on the ropes for large durations in that fight. Canelo, inexperienced and at 165lbs at that gets badly beaten, kid will burn out quick and just get punished in the second half of the fight, his guard is not at clotteys level and even mayweather had to just stay away from pacquiao's offense (grab or jump away), and that pacquiao wasnt as strong as when he had ariza on board.

He's improved since for sure but a 152 Canelo is still a bad muvver****er and still beats Manny.

This whole 152 thing is massively overblown imo purely to discredit Floyd. Canelo was more than young enough to get away with it and I seen zero evidence he was drained. Wasn't Canelo making like 153 & ½ like a yr later?

Ward knows more about boxing than I'll ever know but at that time I believe Floyd upset Ward with some comments about Ward not being P4P if I remember correctly and there was a bit of discrediting going on.

Canelo was also 22 years old. He gets demolished by Pac at that age. He may not get stopped, but he gets bloodied and hurt. Floyd always chose his opponents wisely. Today's version of Canelo on the tainted meat would walk right through Floyd.

to be honest, i think floyd would still beat canelo.

canelo doesnt do well with fighters that move and if floyd fight canelo now, i know floyd is gonna move a lot. at this point, he's not gonna risk exchanging with canelo. he's gonna tag him and move out.

if khan wasnt being an idiot and would have just box canelo instead, i think he would have survive longer or might even win a decision but he got ****y trying to trade.

Why don't you start a thread about it? Just remember that he ducked Margarito and managed to avoid Bradley.

i said he didnt really take that much damage, i didnt say he didnt take any damage at all! hella reaching. in all 4 fights, marquez took the most damage.

here's how he look after the 4th fight, this is the fight where he knocked pac out! the mofo was literally drinking his own blood!

                      Of course its considered movement.
Just because they utilised such techniques doesn't mean that has to be replicated there's always more than one way to skin a cat, he has half a dozen losses and no two fights are the same. And just because a fighter has rarely if ever displayed something it doesn't mean he can't (Just like how Canelo apparently didn't have the feet to avoid GGG).

Floyd stayed away from everyones offense lol
He couldn't put combinations together like he once could and became increasingly negative during his latter years. I'm certain if Morales can stand in front of Manny and outfight him using an aggressive counterpunching style Canelo can if need be. Frankly he can beat him a number of ways not just because of his size but because he's the smarter fighter with the better boxing brain.

Its a predictable fight with Manny starting great for 3-4 rounds 6 being kind. His speed and angles absolutely would cause problems but he's human and that 20+ lb weight advantage WILL take its tole, those bodyshots will sink in and he will slow down. He'll become even more stationary, he'll start coming in in straight lines not moving his head and get wiped out. We've all seen it dozens of times, there are weight divisions for a reason. No 5ft6, 143lb man is beating a 170lb Canelo.

Floyd will always do better against counterpunchers, Manny will always do better against pressure fighters.
