Okay. I've seen the exact opposite and in a disparate fashion. So, where does that leave us? It's actually so comical, in what I've seen, that Jim Lampley spoke of Terence Crawford's mean streak when he clowned one of his opponents-I think it was Molina.

Then, when Lomachenko did the same damn thing, during Sosa, Lampley actually pointed out how Lomachenko was not only not mocking him but that he was actually bending over holding his abdomen in genuine sympathy for the body shot his opponent just took. Absolutely hysterical. I doubt he even realizes he's doing it.

    • I'm curious why it took this long for this to come out?

      • That's very sad news. I love watching him fight and hope everything goes well and he can come back to the ring as soon as possible.

        • Damn. And the hits just keep on coming.

Actually, that was Kellerman. And Lomachenko fans thought it was ridiculous too. But Kellerman might just be one of those people who views both white people and black people as races that are beneath him, as sheep or animals. So maybe he thinks in a very stereotypical way, like "my job is to hype fighters for HBO. The black animals, who are all the same, like mean ****y fighters, so I will hype their guy, Crawford, as mean. The white animals, who are all the same, like humble fighters, so I will hype their guy as humble."

That's just speculation, but Kellerman's comment about Loma doing it as an "empathetic gesture" was so ridiculous, sometimes you have to wonder if there's not something more going on with him. There really are people out there who think of both white and black people that way, as "goyim," as animals, so you just don't know. I'm not saying that's what Kellerman was thinking, I'm just putting it out there as a possibility, and I have no idea how likely that possibility is, I just know that he says a lot of things that are so ridiculous as to cause su****ion about what he's really thinking.

Loma used to stop a lot of people in the amateurs. Andrew Selby said Loma stopped and dropped everyone in a particular tournament they were in. Then he started having hand issues. Loma does have power.

Loma won the 2009 World Championships and 2012 Olympics with messed up hands.
That could explain why Loma doesn't sit on his punches early in fights. Maybe he's tailored his style around his injuries, the way Calzaghe did. Calzaghe was extremely underrated, he could punch a lot better before his injuries.

One was a guy I worked with in a hospital, who has the best care possible, and was a rock climber. 5 years later, he still couldn't do what he once did. The other was an accountant who was out of the gym for 5 months or so after surgery, and never had full strength, even a year later. It wasn't even so much the strength as the flexibility. It's something that always concerned me because of how many people I've known who have been set back by shoulder injuries. It's made me very cautious.

I know fans want to think that things can be mended and 100% again but it's never 100%. A significant injury will always nag you and hold you back to an extent, which is really unfortunate as Loma is on a tear and in his prime. I think he's going to have a great career but I am bummed that he's going to now has gone through an injury in his prime that might hold him back from full potential.
Even if they had the best care, did they do intensive pro athlete type of rehab? Pro athletes get lambrum tears all the time not to mention torn ACL's and stuff like that that other people never come back from 100%, yet they're back to 90% after a year and 100% by 2-3 years. Why? Because they have a pro trainer that they're working to restore range of motion with by doing intensive training hours and hours every day. Look how fast Adrien Peterson came back from the knee injury. Plus, a lot of pro athletes are on steroids and PEDs and have access to all that stuff that can help get them back faster.

But, we'll see how it goes. It's definitely not good news for Lomachenko, or for boxing. We were going to be on the fast track to Loma-Mikey or Loma-Pacquiao or both by the end of this year or early next. Now ****ing what? ****k!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                    Wishful thinking but not reality. Read below;

The recommended Rx for this is to avoid movements that directly impact the injury and for a pro athlete that does not leave a lot of options. The arthroscopic surgery will just trim up cartilage slightly but it's really questionable if doing so improves anything anyways. Mostly they just want to stick the camera in there to see 100% what is going on and trim things since they are already inside. It's definitely a compromised shoulder for life and he will always need some kind of exemption (TUE) for something to fight I'd think. Not good at all.

What happens with injuries like this is that the pain causes muscles and tendons to spasm...this is how your body protects you from further damaging yourself. It locks you up with spasms that shut you down with pain and limit your range of motion to protect the injury.

So you rest and with good massage and trigger point release the pain settles down and the range of motion returns until you set things off again doing what caused it to spasm up in the first place. And since the cartilage will always be compromised this cycle can't be avoided if you are going to punch for a living.

You get used to the pain and train through it and make adjustments...but these things DO make it harder obviously to be 100% and full strength never returns mostly because of the pain. Fight night he will probably get a Tordal injection (providing he gets the TUE) and nothing will hurt and he will be strong but not as strong as he would be if he could have trained pain free and with full flexibility with full range of motion.

Everything about boxing takes it's tole on the body and it breaks the body down. He's already 30 I believe and probably not looking to box forever. He will carry on I think for some years to come...like Floyd did with bad hands and all. Manny took Tordal injections for his shoulder for some time before the Mayweather fight as I recall (remember the bruhaha about him being denied it for the Mayweather fight?).

My guess is this has been coming on for some time. It starts off at a manageable level and then it reaches a breaking point. Let's hope for the best.
