Anyway, I wish Loma the best of luck, and I hope he makes a full recovery. Quite impressive to perform the way he did with an injury.

Lomachenko is already P4P number one, but he needs to be ranked even higher (I know that is impossible)

Personally I think he has holes in his defence and can be hurt, as Linares showed. When people say he is better than Mayweather, that annoys me, because to me, he looks a lot easier to beat. That's my personal explanation as to why I find him and his hardcore fans irritating. He's a top fighter, but all that stuff Arum was saying about him, that was going overboard to me.
He weighed 138 fight night against Linares while Linares was around 155. Popped his shoulder out of its socket in the 2nd round and still dominated most of the fight and knocked Linares out with a body shot. Linares was considered the top at 135 and a p4p top 10. The fact alone that Linares outweighed Loma by almost 20 pounds is an amazing feat by itself and will go down in the history books as a good of a win or even better than any of floyds fights so how can you not give him his props? Loma would have washed up Mayweather at 130

Sad news. I've known several guys who have suffered shoulder tears and they all said they were never 100% after that. One of them was a training partner who got the tear while we were sparring.

That said, I don't get this lack of credit either. Seems completely unfounded. But hey, there is a genious on this thread who said that "LOMA the new GGG.. overrated fraud".

Loma is a 2 time Olympic gold champion and 3 division world champion in 12 fights. But nah, not good enough. Maybe once he beat AJ, people would give him the props. I wish those with such "high standards" realize that they completely obliterate their own credibility with these kind of statements. Not to mention that any decent amateur, even no Olympic medalist, would put these couch Rambos to sleep in the first round.
Yeah that’s what I was thinking too, his stats are ridiculous, 2 losses in over 400 fights or something...doesn’t even seem possible

The injury could have a big effect on loma who knows, but I think when you have that kind of money you can afford the best doctors and he has the best team around him, so I think we'll likely see him come back as strong as ever. Espn and especially Top rank have a big vested interest in Loma doing big ppv numbers within the next year or 2.

when ggg was coming up and getting more popular, I always wondered how people could justify not liking him. The guy smiles and KOs everyone, and says goofy funny stuff like 'this is my box' and 'big drama show'. The same thing happens to Lomachenko. There might be some racism there, but I think the root of the problem is some people cannot admire more than one boxer at a time. Any admiration they see which is not for their favourite fighter takes something away from the boxer they like. I guess an exception to that rule would be if you genuinely don't like the style of a boxer for some reason. And some people used to say that GGG's style is one dimensional. Tough to say the same about Loma though.

So, if you don't like Loma, ask yourself, who do you actually like? For example, is there anybody out there who likes GGG but hates Loma? And if you find that you only like one boxer, or only like one type of boxer (either by race, or by style, or by smth else), maybe the problem is you, not Loma? LOL.

Okay yeah, fair enough, probably is a bit premature to be calling him GOAT. Got to be one of the best amateurs in history I suppose, although there are a few candidates in that category as well to be fair, people like Kindalin etc were also totally dominant.
