I have some info around this... Spike team has already started the camp. Seems they are on a certain stand by if GGG match fails...

In order of danger for Canelo

      1 GGG/Jacobs. (obviously)
2 Charlo (untested at mw but skills & power)
3 Saunders (big time skills and ring IQ)
4 Spike or anyone else (no chance)

If he won't fight GGG he won't fight Jacobs - less money for a very dangerous fight he could likely lose.

He is also unlikely to fight Charlo. A bit unknown at the weight as real power but very dangerous and no money.

Saunders is interesting. Legit undefeated champion. Tricky fight but likely to go the distance and if in Vegas DLH will make sure C wins on points. The money won't be great but solid and won't be an obvious duck. Not a bad option for them. I can see why they're talking Saunders.

Spike or anyone like that is an obvious duck. Not great for his brand.

Saunders makes sense for a title with a decent tho not great payday with relatively little risk as he's not a huge puncher.

GGG Jacobs and Charlo are all high risk. GGG is the only seriously big money fight. So no point fighting Jacobs or Charlo.

So they have to decide huge money big risk with GGG less risk much less money with Saunders.

There is one more factor. What if C were to lose? Losing to Jacobs or Charlo would be bad. Bad matchmaking. Losing to Saunders could be embarrassing. But losing to GGG in a great fight hurts nobody and offers an insanely lucrative rematch. C won't be thinking this way but you can bet your life DLH, or some grown-up on his team, is thinking along the lines.

I won't be at all surprised if all this talk is just got air. I expect him to fight GGG. Money talks.

Although randomly w/o knowing exactly what you mean I think people are jumping the gun with this Munguia sh^t. He beat one of the weakest names in the game right now. And I've seen a couple twitter dipsh^ts acting like he woulda beaten GGG too.

I'm curious about Munguia vs better guys myself, but I think too many people are giving him too much respect off of a Sadam Ali W.
Munguia vs Canelo at 155. Mexican Cinco De Mayo.

I'm guessing BJS belt doesn't come cheap, might be in the 60/40 split range. I also pick BJS to school this No-Clen version of Canelote.

they should tell Golovkin..... either, accept the 30% now..... or accept 25% for a unification next May..... your choice

actually, if Golovkin fk's him around..... Canelo should tell him to kick rocks and burn his $20mil+ payday

because, there are likely BETTER opponents available that Canelo will fight..... and Golovkin will not fight those guys

He wouldn't be able to knock Canelo out, but after a year off with some ring rust, he may be able to keep it close on the cards. Doubt they take him next after the layoff.

Saunders will school Canelo, especially with 365 testing. Make it happen.

Suanders would make him look bad, contaversial win at best. The narrative would still be he was too scared to fight GGG at 36 while he wasn’t clean so Canelo tried to wait him out again.

Normally, GGG team would take 30%, they did twice. But Canelo was caught cheating, and screwed GGG over and use a bogus meat excuse.

Canelo team see GGG as aging, and thereby need him so they can duck Charlo and others for a few years. GGG can wait, if he’s aging it won’t be by much in May, so **** it.

Or let Canelo be stained with this the rest of his career.
