if the cards are decent, yes. you know that saunders is going to be hard pressed to beat canelo on points in america.

the mayweather fight is a good example, even on older legs he had canelo lost at sea. i was at that fight.

lara's movement gave him trouble as well, but lara didn't ahve the pacing and consistency needed to get him the decision. saunders is a much more professional fighter than that, even if i think lara's more talented and a better counterpuncher.

On another note a rematch with GGG could start to erase doubts about Canelo that have emerged over the last 9 months. So long as Red defeats Golovkin in a clean rematch, he could easily make up what he lost in the coming years. He is still 27. Therefore, A-side has to make financial sacrifices for the sake of their long-term interests, 50/50 is more than fair. Any thoughts?

I agree. Golovkin and Jacobs negotiated a 60 40 split in order to make the fight. With all the turmoil Canelo caused 50 50 is a good compromise to get the fight done. Personally at this point I don't care if they fight again. However its not my money..

Ive been saying for a week or so now; If Canelo fights and beats Saunders, GGG is fucked.

Canelo can fight an easy fight after that, and then start talking about a GGG rematch.... that would be, what, 18 months away? GGG will be far more deteriorated at that point.

Saunders looked like superman against a meat-and-potatoes Lemeiux, Canelo is more than crafty enough in the ring to handle Saunders. People are overrating Saunders because he looked so good in one fight.

Canelo is a very skilled fighter to be sure. But he's not vey fast on his feet. Further, where his power was an item before, I'm curious to see what it's like with drug testing.
