Comments Thread For: Hearn: Joshua Wants Wilder - But He Wants The Fight in The UK
Collapse

Because Wilder's yard doubles the money in Joshua's yard.
Hearn made his offer to Wilder, whether it was deliberately low-ball or not, because he said that the fight was only worth $45m or so to everyone.
Wilder's camp believe that the fight is worth well more than $50m to everyone, and they're guaranteeing the $50m to prove it.
Money is what moves everything; Charles Martin basically stumbled into the IBF belt. Not for one moment was the idea even thought to have Joshua come to the US, and fight Martin at StubHub (9,000-seat venue, Martin is based in California, etc); they made it clear that the money was in the UK, put forward an unheard of offer for the fight, and Martin made the trip with his title.
Why are things different now?Comment

He should just admit it. They don't won't that work; Not at this time anyway. Matchroom boxing has to plan Joshua's future.Comment

You said “still hasn’t fought out of the u.s” he has for what was career high pay days at that time your point you was making was wrong it’s ok... He already said he would fight aj in Uk which he has shown he would travel to take a fight if the money is right wasn’t that the point of aj saying he want 50 mil and will sign fight next dayComment

you say that m8 but we still have not seen the proof...also Joshua only has to fight two times to earn that money...my honest opinion if I was Joshua I would not fight in the states and risk being shafted by vegas ...and yes ok it is 50 million but Joshua earns 20 million a fight and really that's more than enough...Joshua has 3 belts can pack out a stadium and sell over 1.8 m PPv and why on earth should he risk getting shafted when he is the A-side ....look at mayweather he never even left vegas to fight once he became the kingpin...1st fight in Wembley and rematch in vegas that is how it should beComment

If Joshua wins he'll then be the bigger name? Joshua is much the bigger name now, he doesn't need to beat Wilder to gain that position.Comment

They going back on their word
$50Ms was the asking price
Sidebar:
As far as Eddie Hearn announcement, it’s another promoter trying to get me to spend money on boxing, Not impressed, until a league is created with a governing body and belt not impressed, that’s what American fans need to get them back into boxing, they don’t need another subscription, this isn’t a game changer
I’m not sure if he can pull as many Haymon fighters as they would like, cause they would have to buy in the idea that a Netflix like subscription will be a salvation to their career, and it’s not yet proven, and I personally don’t think that is the answer
Now if Eddie proved he could create an American Star off Danny Jacobs, it would be a strong selling point, but so far Danny hasn’t gained traction with Eddie, so why should charlos feel confident? Broner turned down roc nation money, u think he leaving Haymon for Eddie?
American market is too cluttered and fragmented for boxing fans to add another subscription service
Until all the promoters and governing bodies get together to create a league, not impressed
Whats the brand new magnetic incentive to fight for Greedy Hearn?? Exposure on streaming? The opportunity to meet his robot up close & personal? Paying 20 instead of 25 bucks a month? Impressed!? NEGATIVE!!!
I WANT the BEST against the BEST whether or not its ESPN, HBO, Showtime, SKY, PPV or whoever these fighters believe gives them the best deal for themselves, their families and their futures. Hearns PRIME concern is increasing his already fat pockets....Comment

Folks seem to forget that the most money made on a Joshua fight was against Klitschko, and that fight apparently capped out with the two fighters together making $45m (plus whatever personal sponsors).
A ton of money, but let's keep context hereComment
