Comments Thread For: Hearn: Joshua Wants Wilder - But He Wants The Fight in The UK

WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (21-0, 20 KOs) wants to get in the ring with WBC champion Deontay Wilder (40-0, 39 KOs). But he wants the contest to take place on UK soil, according to his promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport. Joshua vs. Wilder is arguably the biggest fight to be made in the sport.

They going back on their word

        $50Ms was the asking price

        Sidebar:

As far as Eddie Hearn announcement, it’s another promoter trying to get me to spend money on boxing, Not impressed, until a league is created with a governing body and belt not impressed, that’s what American fans need to get them back into boxing, they don’t need another subscription, this isn’t a game changer

I’m not sure if he can pull as many Haymon fighters as they would like, cause they would have to buy in the idea that a Netflix like subscription will be a salvation to their career, and it’s not yet proven, and I personally don’t think that is the answer

Now if Eddie proved he could create an American Star off Danny Jacobs, it would be a strong selling point, but so far Danny hasn’t gained traction with Eddie, so why should charlos feel confident? Broner turned down roc nation money, u think he leaving Haymon for Eddie?

American market is too cluttered and fragmented for boxing fans to add another subscription service

Until all the promoters and governing bodies get together to create a league, not impressed

Fuck that Joshua, the money is in america. Get yourself over there, as long as that 50m is guaranteed and it doesn't tie in with sponsors or whatever, then you are not going to make 50m dollars over here as of now. Again this is changing stance from Joshua, he said "If the fight is worth 100m, then give me 50m and i would sign tomorrow"...So none of this "I owe it to my UK fans" BS.

It should be in the UK because it'll be a much bigger deal and better event over here. As a viewer would you really prefer it to be held in a silent casino rather than a raucous stadium?

If only Wilder had the confidence to take the fight instead of trying to sc**** what he can for his retirement. Sometimes you have to be willing to take a little to make more in the long run. Exactly what Joshua did to get where he is now.
