      Thats actually something I'll love about streaming. Ability to turn off commentary & just listen to the "ring" sounds. Man I wish we could go back on every great fight in history & watch it without these old dipsh^ts talking about nothing half the time.

      Once they put the live content on the ESPN app. I'll but it. No chance otherwise.

      Showtime's app works because you get access to everything both live and in the library.

        8 years, $1b averages out to $125m per year for 32 shows (apparently not including Anthony Joshua), 16 shows being in the US and another 16 on matinee.

        $4m a show (£2.8m), whatever tickets you can sell, and you've got something to work with.

        That's still not enough money to swamp what Showtime is already offering to Haymon, and the deal already doesn't include Joshua, Jacobs, or any fighter stuck behind a contract.

But I guess if they like THAT much on all 3 of those platforms then fair play to them, but I suspect most watch 2 shows on 1 platform or w/e so maybe they just need to find a more optimal use of their viewing entertainment money.

            But I do agree at some point there is gonna be a bloodbath with all these platforms going at each other cuz you can only have so many apps & platforms offering $4.99 to $20/mo services before some companies are getting shot out of the sky like in the game Duck Hunt from back in the day.

            This whole thing is merely getting started & there is probably gonna be a streaming content platform bubble in another 10-20 years that'll leave hundreds of companies busto & leave a handful running things for generations to come or til the "next level streaming product comes out".

              So 4 million per show roughly?

              I'm not convinced this will work at all. But I am sure EH realised he couldn't go up against the long established promoters with their long established contacts so he figured streaming was a win win - it is a new medium with unlimited potential considering online viewing of sports is probably going to grow exponentially .

                This deal will be amazing for boxing however moreso for the international boxing scene then for the American boxing scene. You see what eddie hearn has created is a platform for him and al haymon to work together to create a awesome stage for world class fights. If your in the united states a streaming service wont increase the amount of boxing fans and therefore probably wont create superstars. It will allow American fighters to grow their oversees appeal but not national fanbase. Therefore it will only really help fighters who were already sorta established.

                  However I am really impressed by eddie hearns ability to get a deal like this. It really shows boxings international appeal. I wonder how much the other sports like American football/NFL got from Dazn.

                      I suspect so. streaming services are basically the way things are now. Apple Music or Spotify for music, Netflix for TV and Movies. There's really a gap in the market for someone to do it with the sports world. Things like Spotify and Netflix have basically killed off other formats, like physical sales. I'm sure with the right content, something like this can change the way people watch sports.

                      Gotta move with the times and that's what they're doing.
