And if he picks up enough of them Zuffa Boxing is gonna look like Roc Nation with picking the scraps so they need to be jumping out there & picking up some more dudes quick too.

Randomly who are some non-Haymon free agents or soon to be free agents? Anyone know?
That doesn't make sense, though? Errol Spence Jr is already featured on Showtime, has finally gotten in with some decent TX sponsors tbh, and he's heading home to headline his first show at the 12k Cowboys facility near Dallas, with his own promotional company sharing the marquee (Man Down).

Being IBF champion, and arguably the best fighter at 147lbs, being tied with the deepest talent pool at the weight, why would Errol Spence Jr give all of that up to sign with Matchroom Sport USA and a streaming service that no one here had even heard of before Wednesday?

Deontay Wilder is already on $2m+ to fight, and the casual audience seems to be finally catching on to the American heavyweight champion. It makes no sense for him to move either.

Even the Charlo brothers, though further away tbh, have a setup where they stand that can deliver for them in short order (depending on how the timing sets up, Jermall Charlo will get his shot at a 160lb world title within a year's time and Jermell Charlo is basically at most 3 fights away from a shot at being the 154lb kingpin).

Adrien Broner would make sense as a viable option for the move, but then Matchroom would have to find folks for him to fight on their streaming service not tied to any other platform (Showtime/CBS, ESPN+/ESPN, FOX/FS1, HBO aren't likely to give up their own potential content to build a competitor).

In the battle of Showtime/CBS vs DAZN streaming service, for boxing content, Haymon isn't set up to be the type of guy to undercut Stephen Espinoza in that way, especially when the move isn't at the obvious benefit to the fighter that Haymon is working for.

With just under $8m to spend on each show, you have to expect that DAZN's boxing product will rapidly eclipse HBO's and then I guess most people who pay for HBO specifically for its boxing content will simply switch over rather than maintain both subscriptions. I think this deal could spell the end of HBO's involvement in boxing, as they are clearly the most vulnerable competitor right now. Hearn being the architect may feel like a bit of a knife in the back considering they were the ones to bring him over to America in the first place
HBO Wanted Daniel Jacobs who Hearn wanted to Promote. It's as simple as that, HBO are not quitting boxing as they still have the most lucrative boxer in this current time, which is Canelo Alvarez and that Latino Fanbase of his.Once Canelo is finished, that is when HBO will be finished unless a new star mexican/latino fighter comes along.

You see what eddie hearn has created is a platform for him and al haymon to work together to create a awesome stage for world class fights. If your in the united states a streaming service wont increase the amount of boxing fans and therefore probably wont create superstars. It will allow American fighters to grow their oversees appeal but not national fanbase. Therefore it will only really help fighters who were already sorta established.
Might be on to something here. It'll be interesting to see how this unfolds.

It's definitely not some grand domestic play to take guys off of HBO and Showtime.

Hearn knows wilder is gonna spark aj & he wants wilder signed to him.

This deal will be used as an excuse to duck wilder unless Hearn holds all the cards.
He won't put aj near wilder nor will he pay him a decent fee to fight without signing.
Hearn will look to keep aj safe with his fights for a few years if wilder doesn't sign.

Hearn will start to talk about the bigger picture and how everything's exciting and wilders not doing enough...

It's all smoke and mirrors to duck wilder or sign him up as Hearn knows wilder will take Joshua out...
Whoever has wilder will run the game. Hearn knows this..

So he's gonna try and shut wilder out to devalue him or sign himself, this deal will be his platform
He's already been foxed out of that, though. The moment that Wilder finally got pub, drew massive attention for the Ortiz fight, put forward the offer to make the fight that everyone wants to see, and the American sporting press picked up the story of Hearn confirming that the offer was indeed real, he's stuck.

The American/global public understands that the Povetkin fight is a possibility for being next, but after that, the only thing that anyone outside of the UK would even want to hear about Joshua would be when is he fighting Wilder.

No one cares about the Charr-Oquendo winner, no one cares about Dillian Whyte, no one cares about Jarell Miller, no one cares about Tyson Fury, etc.

            Joe Calzaghe sets in

Hence the challenge Hearn will face in signing marque fighters from haymons stable. In all honesty this deal is great for USA fighters who cant be the future of USA boxing (AB) yet have established a name for themselves or for fighters who will become a global star. However I believe the challenge for haymon will be getting his fighters better options.

                • The best thing for haymon is to hurry and complete his TV deal before Zuffa Finds a way to help Eddie Hearn steal his fighters.

                  • I can see Joshua Wilder being a launch fight to be honest . Fight in the U.K. So they maximize ppv in the U.K. Which is already guaranteed then have america love launch on this new app! It's a hell of a lot of money, let's see who he signs over the next few weeks. He mentioned quite a lot of American fighters in the interviews, I would be surprised if he didn't have at least a few of them already lined up

i would never pay $10/ month to watch substandard fights.

can someone explain to me why the streaming business is gonna be the next big thing?

                      thanks in advance
In a nutshell, streaming gets you access to content that you want to see, bypassing service providers; rather than pay $50 to a cable/satellite operator for a package that you only watch 5% of, you pay $15 for the few channels that you do watch and go without the rest.

I have the Showtime app on my phone and pay $10 a month for it; for my money, I get the full slate of Showtime Championship Boxing/SHO International events, the full slate of ShoBox cards, and complete access to all of Showtime's current shows (Homeland, The Chi, Ray Donovan, Cartoon President), the Showtime library (old shows and fights), and a decent library of movies to watch.

Chromecast from my phone to any TV, and I basically can watch live fights from anywhere.

With the move to streaming, a person can simply stick to only the content that they want to watch and avoid paying for stuff that they don't watch.
