Hearn knows wilder is gonna spark aj & he wants wilder signed to him.
This deal will be used as an excuse to duck wilder unless Hearn holds all the cards.
He won't put aj near wilder nor will he pay him a decent fee to fight without signing.
Hearn will look to keep aj safe with his fights for a few years if wilder doesn't sign.
Hearn will start to talk about the bigger picture and how everything's exciting and wilders not doing enough...
It's all smoke and mirrors to duck wilder or sign him up as Hearn knows wilder will take Joshua out...
Whoever has wilder will run the game. Hearn knows this..
So he's gonna try and shut wilder out to devalue him or sign himself, this deal will be his platformOriginally posted by Scipio2009 View PostHe's already been foxed out of that, though. The moment that Wilder finally got pub, drew massive attention for the Ortiz fight, put forward the offer to make the fight that everyone wants to see, and the American sporting press picked up the story of Hearn confirming that the offer was indeed real, he's stuck.
The American/global public understands that the Povetkin fight is a possibility for being next, but after that, the only thing that anyone outside of the UK would even want to hear about Joshua would be when is he fighting Wilder.
No one cares about the Charr-Oquendo winner, no one cares about Dillian Whyte, no one cares about Jarell Miller, no one cares about Tyson Fury, etc.
Joe Calzaghe sets in

This is actually brilliant news for Frank Warren.
I guarantee you that Frank is doing Cartwheels right now.
Do you know why this deal will actually end up being great for Frank Warren? I'm interested to know if you have the smarts to figure out why!Last edited by Boxnation fan; 05-10-2018, 07:36 PM.

Once this is up and running, I will be curious to see if Eddie Hearn distances himself from HBO. I know Daniel Jacobs is part of Matchroom Boxing USA and has signed a contract with HBO. That is probably the best move for him regardless of these new developments, because as long as HBO has both Canelo and GGG, all middleweight roads ultimately lead through HBO.
But outside of this, will Hearn forge on without them, only working with them occasionally ala Al Haymon? If so, it would be another big loss for HBO. In the past few years they've lost most of their business from Al Haymon's clients, and then Top Rank bailed on them when they jumped to ESPN. Even Oscar de la Hoya realizes that HBO is trending down--all his up and coming talent is on ESPN2, and some of his best talent like Jorge Linares and Lucas Matthysse are fighting outside the network because the HBO stable cannot provide them the big fights they need.
If they lose most of the potential business from Matchroom Boxing USA as well, you have to start wondering how much longer HBO will continue as a viable boxing entity once GGG and Canelo are no longer active superstars. They have other good fighters, sure, but these are their anchors, and their main roster of talent has been shrinking for years, as has their fight calendar.
Jarrell Miller is with Matchroom Boxing USA, and his appearance on HBO is clearly an indicator that HBO is trying to get in on the heavyweight sweepstakes. They already made one huge offer to Anthony Joshua that Showtime ended up matching. I won't be at all surprised if they make another much bigger offer to Joshua sometime soon in an effort to stablize their brand.

I think you should take some time away from the internet if you think that. That's way beyond crazy.

It's already in print that Hearn is using this deal to lure wilder. If that's what he wants & he clearly does.
Who honestly believes he will let aj(his biggest fighter) face wilder without wilder signed to Hearn stable.
Now Hearn knows wilder can generate 50mil plus with "no real promotion " he also knows the risk with wilder....that's why he's far more cautious than the 4 fights AJ is built on.
Some people on this site are just TOO ****** for words. You're one of them.
