For you to argue that Canelo is as good or better than Griffith is just plain crazy.

Brook and other JR Middles? Are you saying they are just as good as Griffith or Napoles?
I'd take Canelo at 154 now over a 35-yr old Griffith.
I'd take Brook over Napoles at 154 too.
Lord, he lost to John Stracey b/c he bled like an elephant with a period.

And the whole point here is Carlos fought overblown welters and he gets a pass while GGG gets knocked for fighting overblown welters and jr welters .
And it's not like Brook is a freaking small welter .

you guys are talking about comparing Golovkin to Monzon lol

I am talking about Golovkin not even being in the top 5 at 160

aside from proving that he is ranked higher than 5 at middleweight..... Golovkin needs to prove that he can put on a world-class performance against a world-class opponent..... because against Jacobs/Canelo he looked average

He was an old man when he fought Stracey. Too many fights, too much wear and tear, too much booze already. 35 back then was not what 35 is to a fighter now.

Brook would have a size advantage but I think 154 would have been a good weight for the Napoles who came up short against Monzon. It's a cop out to say "Oh he'd bleed all night". He's a much, much better fighter than Brook.

You know when you are in the top 10 ratings of a major boxing body, you are supposed to be "world class".

Weird timing for a whats left to prove for Golovkin article. I guess there is nothing left to prove after beating Vanes Martirosian

it doesn't work like that man

plenty of top 10 fighters are not genuinely world-class

I guess, but would you say elite as in P4P or just the elite of that division? Canelo and him are about equal, but every single on of Canelo's fight's against grade A opposition has an asterisk by it as well. Does that make them elite or both products of favorable matchmaking.
