I'll say one thing. Napoles is one of my favorites in history but he was undersized at 160. Remember he was basically a lightweight who only went to welterweight because he couldn't get a title shot. He was doing well against Monzon early but was simply overwhelmed due to the size difference. I think he was a better boxer than Carlos though I wouldn't necessarily rate his career higher. Napoles though was still a great win given that he was the dominant welterweight champion, a clear legend of the game and was one of the best in the world at any weight class entering the Monzon clash. Different era's. I don't think GGG would get any respect for beating Crawford or Spence next.
If Spence came into a fight with Golovkin with the reputation of a Napoles, I would definitely rate the win.

      Golovkin's resume is.....
      Lemieux
      Jacobs *
      Canelo *

he hasn't qualified for ANYTHING lol

it's not like Golovkin took all of those tricky fights that he was offered vs ex-champs/names, or like he put in a good effort vs Ward, or anything lol

we told you guys that Golovkin needed to step up if you guys wanted to call him great

hard luck for you that he did not

i've never pretended Golovkin is HoFer. I am just saying he made elite status after the canelo bout.

              Both looked shot .
Look at the size advantage by Monzon.
And his size advantage over Napoles ?

GGG gets criticized for fighting Brook and jr middles.
But, let's forget Monzon fought overblown welters as well.

He has also got a tied record for most consecutive KO's in title fights too at 17. Tied with Wilfredo Gomez.

                Those things will add up.
its not seen as 20 by anyone other than the ibo.

                • What's Left For Gennady Golovkin To Prove?.....

Golovkin needs to prove that he is ranked higher than #5 at middleweight

because..... right now, I can name 2 guys who would definitely beat him..... 2 more who would probably beat him..... and 2 more who would give him fits

loses to Jacobs, Canelo..... probably loses to Saunders, Charlo..... and has all sorts of problems with Derevyanchenko, Andrade

gone are the " middleweight is dead " excuses..... and gone are the "dey duckin me doe" excuses

                  waiting.....

CONS: below average strength of opposition

PROS: Best MW for ~4 years; undefeated after 40 fights

Gotta run to lunch otherwise I'd take more time to write more!
not in, there are too many like 3G an above him that arent. Sturm, Abraham arent in an they are kinda ahead of him. Martinez isnt. GGG shouldnt be, yet.

And look at the size advantage Canelo had over Floyd. Didn't do him any good did it?

For you to argue that Canelo is as good or better than Griffith is just plain crazy.

Brook and other JR Middles? Are you saying they are just as good as Griffith or Napoles?
