I pick Spence over all the welters.
A cpl of good tough fights though but i think he reins supreme over them all.
Just wish he could get in the ring with the top guys.

Him and Jermell train together so that couldn't happen. Ali is with GBP. Already beat Brook. Hurd would really be the only option and he's the biggest guy for his weight in the whole sport. He'd deserve big credit if he could win that fight but afterwards wouldn't he just be waiting for the guys at 147 to move up while still not being a big enough name that they see him as worth the risk?

It does seem like he's in a difficult spot for the short-term. Thurman 'get back year', Garcia vs Porter then winner waits for Thurman rematch, Crawford with TR. But boxing can be unpredictable, guys failing drug tests, being unable to make weight anymore, getting injured, switching promoters, losing fights everyone expected them to win etc. so opportunities could open up. If he stays at WW he could try to get ranked by the WBC like Kovalev did to force a unification. Or maybe Crawford sees no other big meaningful fight around and makes Spence his priority and they're able to do that within the next year.

        I agree.

He's 28. So it's time to make everything happen. If he was younger, I'd say stick it out but ain't nobody got time for that.

How do you know he wouldn't be just as avoided at 154 as he is at 147? If 147 is his correct fighting weight that is where he should fight. Brook fought him. Vargas said he would fight him and I believe him. Khan said he would fight him but I am not sure I believe Khan who is still ducking Brook. Crawford is a brave fighter. I think he would fight him.

Hell no, plus Spence himself has said that his dream is to be the unified 147 champion. It's really boxing's glamour division so he should stay there as long as he can sustain the weight, which he looks to be doing just fine.

Crawford, Thurman, Porter, and Garcia are more interesting and bigger profile fights than the likes of Charlo (who he won't fight), Hurd, Lara, whatever else there is there.

Been saying this for over a year. Changed my mind.

He should stay put unless he can find big money fights at JMW. Despite being very good, Spence isn't a pure boxer or a defensive genius to stay away all twelve rounds or beat the best guy in Hurd toe to toe. I'd have him losing that fight right now.

He should be selective and find the best money fights until the good welters grow some balls. Someone like Khan or a rematch with Brook, or Canelo at 154/5, would fit this profile nicely.

Isn't Khan calling him out? Spence should jump on that one!
