Yeah, and apparantly that was wrong because Canelo, despite fighting above 154 multiple times and calling himsel the WBC and lineal MW champion, wasn't a "real" MW.

If you are going to say that, then you have to also say that those 2 catchweight defences by BHop against WWs were not "real" MW title fights, and shouldn't be included in his record breaking run.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I guess his record is as good but then again I don't consider Hopkins a great fighter any way. He was a boxer/counter move counter punch style and that often times means BORING!
You can box and still be exciting ala Duran, Leonard, Hearns etc....

GGG is a good fighter who pressures using boxing skills but to refer to him as a "great fighter" is a joke. He's very good.

The response should be "I never said he was better than Hagler!" The absolute worse response is "Yes he is!"

You ever get dizzy from spinning facts?
Yes, Ward is clear on record.
                    "NO". Is what he said.
I need a tune-up, and you can come to 168, and then maybe we'll fight, was his next move.

Why come down in weight? MW goes from 154.1 to 160.
If he wanted the MW belt, why didn't he fight at MW?

                      October 15, 2015:

And when asked about how he might have battled Golovkin, Bernard was -- as always -- confident that he has the answer.

"I would disarm him. And then I would make him fight the fight that I want to fight. Guys like that, they are so dangerous. The first job at hand is to disarm your enemy, your opponent," Hopkins said. "You have to disarm them. There's no negotiating, there's no figuring out. When a guy has something in his hand that's trying to hurt you, you must disarm him. And now let's fight.

"It starts mental. Everything starts from the head down, not from the feet up. So from the head down, this is science I'm speaking, I would disarm you mentally. Once I disarmed you mentally, you won't even use those hands you got."
