Also sounds like Loeffler acknowledging that Derevyanchenko may have been willing to fight for the pay available. Honestly Golovkin needs to be stripped if he starts negotiating to fight anyone other than Derevyanchenko (or possibly Saunders) next.

I've got a very tight definition of what I call a duck, but this is about as close as you get to it - the circumstances only provide partial extenuation IMO.

Was Dereveyanchenko not agreeing to the amount you are giving to Vanes. fans are no fools. We can see easily GGG is ducking. Most likely fight Canelo in Sep and collect a apayday and retire

STRIP GGG of IBF. Make Jacobs vs Derevyanchenko the winner gets the IBF

Any of you people even listen to what DiBella said on this whole subject? Lou doesn't blame GGG at all & would have made the same decision if he was promoting Golovkin. Go listen to the Podcast 22:30 mark specifically but the whole interview is good perspective from the OPPOSING PROMOTER!

Totally different situation, GGG is/was regarded the number 1 MW, mandatory defense had already been ordered & GGG stepped aside twice in good faith to even allow Canelo to get the belt from Cotto & then the Khan fight. You forget all the crap Canelo spewed in the ring after the Khan fight? Golovkin was also Canelo's best payday. Sergey is neither, only the #1 IBF contender but not rated above Canelo, Jacobs, BJS or even Charlo. Why you all try to twist the facts? Gotta love the selective memories.

          nope

the IBF refused to sanction Vanes as an opponent

then they announced that if Golovkin proceeded with the fight, he would be stripped for participating in an unsanctioned contest, as per their rules

          don't shoot the messenger

            besides.....

since when did money become an excuse to avoid your mandatory?

Yup. Dont forget Vegas was gonna turn the fight down like they did the other one. They had to move the fight to Cali to get a commission to approve this gross mismatch

You're missing the part where Loeffler filed for an exception.

"Golovkin has the right to ask for an exception. When and if Golovkin does make a request, the IBF Board will determine whether it will be granted or not and what conditions if any apply," - IBF's Jeanette Salazar
"If the IBF were to grant this exception Golovkin would not be stripped of his title, it simply wouldn't be on the line for the May 5th Martirosyan bout, but it's likely that undefeated top contender Serhiy Derevyanchenko would be deemed the immediately due mandatory challenger."

He is not a mandatory yet, only the #1 contender. Get it?
