Don't be mad at Cotto??? Be mad at GGG who stepped aside for the $$$$. You know who else lay's down for $$$$??? **********S! GGG could of said *** NO! But he took the $$$$ like a god damn HOOKER!Yup. I agree.
The fights that GGG could have had on his resume wouldve been nice if .....
Martinez had fought him (he didn't for reasons we all just discussed), if Cotto didn't avoid him by paying him step aside money ($800k), if Sturm hadn't avoided him (paid money to be elevated to WBA SUPER champ), if Peter Quillin hadn't avoided him (not saying he is an all time great, but a victory over him looks good on your resume - it was believed by many that Peter missed weight on purpose to not have to face GGG as mandatory).
So blame GGG just as much.Comment

If that happens, it will be a very dangerous precedent to set.
The IBF could have easily got in front of this, and been alot more transparent and concrete.
You can't sit by and wait, and then with 19 days left decide to want to ENFORCE a fight. I've never seen that before, ever.
Now - had they said something like "Look GGG, it's March 2nd, we just found out Canelo got busted, if this fight gets canceled for any reason by (specific date) then you will be ordered to fight Sergiy and it will be enforced. If it isn't canceled by (specific date) then you're free to make a voluntary defense"
That's the way to go about it without causing any unrest.
That way everybody involved is in the loop. There's no surprises. No screwed up training camps. Etc.Comment

YES but you are assuming they will mandate for May 5th... they can mandate for June or even JulyIf that happens, it will be a very dangerous precedent to set.

It's not about blame. It's about what he could have had on his resume. But as far as step aside money goes, GGG is very much as complicit in that as Cotto was.
My point was Cotto WOULD HAVE BEEN on his resume.
Just like I'm not BLAMING Sergio. I'm not blaming Cotto. I'm stating who he was in line to fight. Relax.Comment

You know what sets " a very dangerous precedent ???" Having a 154LB guy come out of a TWO FKN YEAR retirement to fight a P4P Top #3 DANGEROUS KO artist!!!! On 3 weeks NOTICE at 160 lbs!If that happens, it will be a very dangerous precedent to set.
