So it's okay to fight a mismatch and avoid your mandatory? Then nobody avoided Golovkin for his entire career. They had their reasons too.

        yea wtf ?

Martinez had a huge money fight with Cotto

Cotto had a huge money fight with Canelo

Golovkin had done nothing to step ahead of those guys, refusing to negotiate on weight with Canelo and Cotto..... and yet, all of those guys got called duckers and bums lol

I have seen this kind of hypocrisy from Golovkin and his fans for YEARS

called Canelo a businessman, but then selected Brook and refused an 8-figure sum to fight Canelo

criticized catchweights, but then demanded 164 from Ward

oh well..... it is good that Golovkin doesn't run around accusing other fighters of being businessmen any more

The fanboys will defend at any cost, no need to waste any more energy. This will be my last post about Triple Duck. I'm done.

One thing for sure: The Canelo fight will never happen.

            http://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/i...es-martirosyan

But while the California State Athletic Commission has approved Martirosyan as an opponent and the WBC and WBA, whose world titles Golovkin holds, have agreed to the sanction the title fight, the IBF -- which also recognizes GGG as its world champion -- told Golovkin on Tuesday that it won't approve the bout and that if he fights Martirosyan it would likely strip him of the title.

IBF attorney Linda P. Torres sent a letter on Tuesday to attorney Ron DiNicola, who represents the Golovkin side, and Alex Dombroff, the attorney for promoter Lou DiBella, who promotes IBF mandatory challenger Sergiy Derevyanchenko, outlining the reasons for the IBF's refusal the grant approval for Golovkin-Martirosyan, a source with knowledge of the letter told ESPN.

In the letter, Torres outlined the reasons for the IBF's refusal the grant approval for Golovkin to defend against Martirosyan. The IBF's reasons for refusing the approve the fight are same reasons why the proposed bout with Martirosyan (36-3-1, 21 KOs), 31, a 2004 U.S. Olympian from Glendale, California, has received so much criticism from boxing fans and media: Martirosyan is coming off a loss, he is a junior middleweight who would be moving up in weight and he has not fought in two years.

If Golovkin goes ahead with the bout against Martirosyan, the IBF said it would invoke its rule 5.H, which states, "If a champion participates in an unsanctioned contest within his prescribed weight limit, the title will be declared vacant whether the champion wins or loses the bout. The championships committee, with the approval of the (IBF) president, will then establish a new champion in that division in accordance with the procedures established and prescribed in these rules."

All of this only applies if they enforce the Sergiy fight. Which they havent yet. We'll see tomorrow

They have now notified GGG by letter that they refuse Vanes. So sure he could get another better opponent and file for an exception for a voluntary fight. But IBF is clear saying we don't view Vanes as a worthy opponent for their belt.

                  That's correct.

Vanes is a disgusting choice anyway. I do not approve. Neither does anyone else.

Based on that, I cant see them ENFORCING the Sergiy fight. They practically are saying "anybody but Vanes".

I think they are actually saying..... you cannot participate in an unsanctioned contest
