Vanes is actually a great fight for Golovkin

His resume is better then Jacobs,Charlo and Andrade's combined, He is only 31 years old and has had time to rest and heal all of his injuries. Vanes has never been knocked down or even dominated, In my opinion the "draw" with Lara was a robbery Vanes clearly won that fight.

Vanes is durable, rough, comes to fight and is also 6 feet tall. I also feel the Andrade fight was a robbery that Vanes also clearly won. I hope this fight is finalized because it will be one of the best fights of the year. Golovkin is a true champ and is always looking to fight the best fighters in the world.

hes far from the scrub thats being made out. almost beat charlo, split decision loss to andrade, close loss to lara but hes a bum and a dreadful opponent. but charlos would be a great opponent despite some saying the vanes fight could have gone either way, fine margins in this sport.

By your definition of "great", a kick in the balls must be a pretty good thing.
No, it's not great. It's not horrible though. I don't think it's all that bad for a last minute replacement.

Definitely lost to Andrade and was beaten clearly by Lara in the rematch.

Actually the Andrade fight was wider for Andrade then the scorecards indicated IMO.

It's really not that bad in comparison to other crap fights like Spike or that unknown Mexican kid. Vanes is solid yet basic but at least he's a better replacement given what else was considered.

EDIT: Just saw that Vanes has yet to fight at 160 and has been inactive for over 2 years. I recount recant my original post.

So Lara wasn't a worthy opponent back then, but his leftovers who happens to have been inactive for two years is?
