Here's a Divanelo fan and I didn't have to look too long.

I think too often just because a certain fighter beats another 1, everyone assumes a much better fighter automatically does the same the same way. Styles make fights & I can see this fight being a ko of the yr type fight where Avnis kod but not before he drags Canelo into a few rd Kirkland dogfight(I think it last at least 5 rds.)

Yes, I agree, it's good for boxing. Yildrim is mandatory so Canelo has to do this fight to move forward with the WBC title. Tbh I don't have a problem with champions taking fights like this, as long as they're interspersed between tougher matchups, as it's a way of staying more active.

This is another positive comment. The point is you can't throw out statements like "everyone called it trash" because that's just not the case.

The point is the comment was that everyone called the fight trash, not that the fight was great.
Without looking too long I found a couple of fans who had no problem with the fight.
So obviously the comment that "everyone called it trash" is just wrong.
