"Although no opponent was announced, Loeffler has not made it a secret that he's working to close a deal with promoter Don King for his fighter, Vanes Martirosyan, to be Golovkin's opponent in what would be a massive step down in competition for GGG and in fan anticipation."

    oh, right.....

    you got the gold !

Martirosyan is a hard opponent to grasp. He has not fought in two years. He is coming off a loss. He has never beaten a top fighter. He has spent his entire 13-year career boxing as a junior middleweight and he would be going up in weight to face one of the most fearsome fighters in the world.....

..... (Golovkin) would be making his 20th title defense. If he's successful he would tie the division record set by Bernard Hopkins in 2005.....

Loeffler and Golovkin have no interest in making the fight with Derevyanchenko on short notice; he is a far more dangerous opponent than Martirosyan

      haha wtf

Why would GBP be liable for damages? They didn't put Clenbuterol in Mexican meat.

seems a word we use often...But to hate being?

Just seems extreme to waste your mind in ugly land.

these guys go in to box..Not to kill.
Very true but you have the media to blame for this....they put him in a place of greatness when he is CLEARLY NOT so now he has the opportunity to show & prove against a few good opponents that they are avoiding so he can have another easy route to get the Canelo rematch. They do not want to get exposed again like they did with Jacobs & Canelo but want the Canelo pay day but again the problem is they don't want any other competition that can threaten them from that pay day, like I stated, there are a few good fighters to pick from like Jermall, Andrade & Jacobs but instead there is the media protecting him. That's why the heat is pilling up. See for yourself below how they make seem like no one is available.

It's not GGG's or his team's fault that Canelo cheated.

They're trying to find someone who might be ready for May 5, of course it's going to be a limited number of boxers who can do that date without issues.

What's wrong with having a stay busy fight when the Canelo fight can be rescheduled?

I'd be mad if I didn't saw GGG fight on May 5, regardless of who the opponent is
You want to see a hyped up fake to fight a bum? LOL

Andrade hasn't been looking well in his last 2 fights, which both went the distance.
                  What's so scary about him?
Even Lara should have fought Andrade, and probably beat him.
Aren't they interested in Andrayd's zero?
As opposed to Martirosyan with full of loses?
                  I don't get it.
Point is, Glovkin can beat Andrayd.
See that's what YOU believe but Real boxing fans & lil g's team believe Boo Boo is a threat THAT'S WHY they will not fight him.

I've been reading tweets from people involved in this saga, and trying to figure out what's been going on behind the scenes, and especially, why GGG seems to be trying to duck a mando .. which is totally out of character for him and his team.

So here is my take on it. Just a theory, mind you, and I know I could be totally wrong.

Loeffler, Debella, and HBO, all realise that, with only 3 weeks to promote and publicise it, GGG vs Dereyanchenko - who is unkown to the casual US fan base - is not a legit PPV fight.

So HBO have offered to buy it and screen it to their subscribers, instead of having it PPV. The problem is that the money they are offering is not enough for what could be a very lucrative fight ... if it was promoted and publicised properly.

So Loeffler wants Dibella to accept delaying his fighter's mando till after the GGG/Canelo rematch, because, as a 4 belt unification fight, it would be a legit PPV match and make a lot more money for all concerned.

But Dibella won't go along with that idea because he sees an opportunity to force GGG into relinquishing the IBF title, so his guy then becomes champion by default, and can use the IBF belt as leverage in negotiations for a fight with either GGG or Canelo further down the line.

I would like this to happen (forget Canelo for now he's suspended)
WBC interim title fights get made Charlo v Jacobs
IBF interim title fight get made Derevyanko v Andrade

Then GGG face Saunders for all the belts WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO.

The division has been held up for too long
-Jermall is lil g's mandatory so you wont get Jermall/Jacobs yet....

-Jacobs won but he didn't knock lil g out so they took it from him to make the nelo fight, so Jacobs had his chance plus team lil g will stay clear of him.

-bjs will NOT fight in May & lil g's team wants the May date for the $ and how can he fight him for all the belts if they strip lil g from the ibf?

-Jermall can fit PERFECTLY in the schedule but wbc wants him to wait....

-Boo Boo is very available right now so what's the hold up?
