I agree if he takes a quality opponent. But if it's Vanes he needs to be stripped. He isn't ranked at MW by any of the orgs and hasn't fought in 2 years and doesn't fight at MW. I'm not high on the Spike fight but I could understand it. But Vanes? Naw.

Vanes is not a bum, my biggest concern really is that he's been inactive for a long time.

IDK I'd prefer a MW obviously but it's w/e. Not gonna make a great fight at the last minute.

Today was supposed to be the day they announced Vanes. Now they're saying they have to wait until Canelo's hearing. That's next week. They're at the point where the date needs to be scrapped. Try again for June or July.

Yeah, they certainly won't do it now with 20 days til fight time. That sets a bad precedent and could get someone hurt. Let's say for instance Sergiy isn't ready to fight, yet they still mandate it - Sergiy would kill himself making weight on short notice and get slaughtered in the ring. Sanctioning organizations can be sued up the wazoo for that.

They can. GGG wants to fight on May 5th. It's his promoter, Tom Loeffler's job to get him that date. If he moves this fight to June, he will no doubt be fighting Saunders. And Sergiy will have to wait again still. And you know the IBF, WBO, WBC, WBA will all allow that Canelo fight in September over a mandatory, so Sergiy will have to wait again until next year.

Never tried to make that point now did I? Simply checked your silly statement.

My feeling, I don't care who he fights on May 5th or if he fights. I don't blame him for who ever he fights. I may or may not watch the fight. I'd give him credit, probably more than most of his haters would, if he fight Derevy and won. Apart from that he isn't getting credit for beating anyone else. I also know that beating Derevy wouldn't do anything for him with the hater crowd. And yes it is a risky fight.

Canelo f'd up the mega fight. When i see the typical asshats railing against Golovkin like they never would against Canelo I know the game.

May 5th is a lost cause, I'm more curious to see what happens after that. I'm more sympathetic when I hear, Golovkin should have given Jacobs a rematch crowd then those of you crying about Golovkin's possible May 5th opponent. But few haters have the ability to pick and choose their fights. That's why most of them are just losers. Find me the real deal hater and 9/10 I find you a total loser in life. And this isn't a statement about Golovkin haters but haters of any boxer or athlete.
                  no one is acknowledging anything

vanes is a shiiit fight and we all know it and may 5 can still happen just fight a middleweight ffs

Yeah they could. But if they don't order GGG to fight Derevyanchenko before he signs to fight Vanes or anybody else, they can't then strip him for failing to comply.
