Nah I know my pounds from dollars .. and it looks like the AJ offer was 12.5 million pounds not dollars.

Joshua is becoming more and more of a diva!
This would all be settled if he opted to face Wilder like a man face to face in the ring after that sh!+show against Kiwi Parker!
Wilder is making concession after concessions and no one in their right mind would accept a flat fee in a big UNDISPUTED heavyweight fight and yet, Team AJ keeps making more roadblocks!
Hearn was the one who estimated the revenue would be 100 mill and your telling me AJ gets half, Sky Sports gets a slice, Edward gets his slice, Showtime gets a slice and Wilder is left with crumbs?!!
He is the main person who's been hyping and promoting this gotdamn fight for Christmas sakes and there's people who think he should take a flat fee?!
Now AJ playing ****** as if he don't know Hearn was the one who projected that 100 mill estimate!
Reap what you sow Joshua, never seen an A side since Floyd put another fellow champion through so many hoop jumping challenges!

I think everyone (Finkel, Hearn, press) has been in broad agreement with the numbers quoted, wherever they came from.
Where a lot of people seem to be getting confused is what was said next:
- and since Wilder and his handlers have stated that a 60-40 split (in Joshua's favor) would fair - $12.5 million would be far below 40% of the financial take
Just for the sake of easy numbers, if we assume its a $100m fight, that doesn't mean $100m goes to the fighters. Typically its about 50% of that, ie around $50m (depends on the sponsorship and cable agreements made; often lower than 50%, sometimes more).
Seems a lot of people haven't understood this, so the 12.5m in a 100m fight is translated to 12.5%. 12.5m in a 100m fight is actually about 25% of expected purse if you want to go to percentages (12.5 divided by 50).
Joshua's 'give me $50m' would translate to 100% of the estimated $50m purse.
Not in anyone's camp here, just want to point out that both camps continually confuse the size of the revenue for the bout with percentages.
You would think that boxing fans would just want both sides to do the thing that facilitates getting an agreement done. Instead, folks are defending/criticizing offers JUST TO POSITION THEMSELVES TO ARGUE THE OTHER FIGHTER DUCKED.

I've worked hard to get to this position. I've overpaid guys again and again. Now I'm offering this guy a chance I never got. A chance to make history with one fight. A chance to become undisputed despite a career of cherry picking. A chance to be part of boxing history and hold 5 belts and go on to make massive earnings from them if successful.
I'm offering him this but he also wants to take a big slice of the money I generate. No, he can **** right off with that. I'll offer him more money than he's ever been paid before but I'm not going to reward him for talking trash about me or for sitting on that WBC belt fighting guys Haymon found in the back of a dumpster for 3 years.
I know that's what I'd be thinking if I were the 4 belt holding unified heavyweight champion of the world and Wilder was talking that rubbish about me anyway .

So now you admit that $12.5 mil is much more than 12.5%. Not to mention, Windmill hasn't even made $3 mil in a fight before in his entire career and has never been on PPV.
I feel like instead of addressing the issue, most AJ fans want to get into a game of semantics.
