Now it's up to him to prove it was an innocent mistake.
The NAC doesn't have to prove that an "innocent" Alvarez is guilty, the drug test already did that.
nsac doesnt care if it was a mistake, he is getting suspended regardless..

You're right. Canelo is getting suspended no matter what. But, what he can do is decrease that 1yr suspension into a 6 month suspension by proving it was a case of the "meats".

Saluman is doing anything and everything possible to stay on canelo's good side.

But if true that Canelo test showed less clen than did Vargas and Morales, he should be allowed to fight.

WBC's Clean Boxing Program is a good start, but people don't realize with the limited funds available, there's a good chance a fighter can go a year without being tested.

If you're gonna live in Mexico and/or train in Mexico - you should go the extra mile to be sure you don't come in contact with any contaminated meat. However you have to do it. Negligence nor ignorance is no longer a valid excuse.
When it comes to PED discussion there is no question Canelo ingested a banned substance, Clenbuterol.

His defense is that it was "unknowingly". Normally this excuse is immediately dismissed as a poor attempt to escape blame. However, Mexico has a well-documented history specifically with Clenbuterol.

Sauliman of the WBC points out that Mexico has a huge problem with the use of drugs in their cattle, citing the FIFA incident (where more than a hundred teenagers tested positive specifically for Clenbuterol), NFL players who have failed drug tests following trips from Mexico, Olympic committee offering specific warnings for those from/traveling to Mexico, previous Mexican boxers, and professional weightlifters.

WADA, FIFA, NFL, IOC, and many others have absolute knowledge of this substance and its controversies.
                      · 109 out of 289 soccer players tested positive for Clenbuterol during Mexico's sub-17 World Cup in 2011.
                      · Erik Morales and Francisco Vargas tested positive for Clenbuterol before their respective fights of 2013 and 2016, which, indeed, took place in New York and California. THE LEVELS FOUND IN THE BOXERS AND THE INVESTIGATIONS OF THE FACTS LED TO THE CONCLUSION THAT IT WAS DUE TO FOOD CONTAMINATION.
                      · There are several other cases and sports with examples.
                      · The levels of Clenbuterol found in Alvarez are consistent and lower than other athletes levels from the example as detailed above which were ultimately reported as food contamination.
                      · Clenbuterol contamination is a national health issue in Mexico and other countries.
The WBC created the CLEAN BOXING PROGRAM. Administered by VADA under WADA guidelines, we have experienced a wide variety of situations, different substances, different scenarios, complicated research, investigations and rulings. We stand tall to see the WBC CBP working and will continue to have this as one of our top priorities. WE ARE THE ONLY INTERNATIONAL BOXING ORGANIZATION THAT HAS CREATED A PROGRAM TO EDUCATE, ENROLL AND RANDOMLY TEST OUT AND IN COMPETITION, AND BATTLE DOPING IN OUR SPORT BECAUSE, FOR THE WBC, there is nothing more sacred than the safety and physical integrity of the boxers, while making sure that justice is served through the corresponding application of our constitution, rules and regulations through the due process and the world principle of innocence until proven otherwise.

He also makes it clear that Canelo's Clenbuterol levels were consistent with other athletes who had tested positive for Clenbuterol that was found to be the result of meat contamination.

Additionally the WADA director of the facility that collected the specimens stated:

As Daniel Eichner, director of SMRTL, the Wada-accredited lab that conducted the tests stated in his letter (on Monday): ‘These values are all within the range of what is expected from meat contamination’. Upon receiving this information, Golden Boy immediately notified the Nevada State Athletic Commission and Golovkin’s promoter, Tom Loeffler.

So while one can argue there was negligence on the part of Canelo and his team in not being more particular with his diet and where he got his meat from, but I don't live in Mexico so I can't really speak on the availability of alternative meats.

In other words, I don't hold him accountable for any PED use if their investigation determines meat contamination was responsible for the failed tests. Similarly I don't hold him accountable for anything until the investigation is complete because, as of now, he is innocent and his alleged excuse is good enough for me because:
                      1. He's never failed drug tests before and has done OSDT in the past (Mayweather, etc.)
                      2. He was enrolled in VADA's 2017 365 program (never failed)
                      3. He's fucking Ca$hnelo baby
