Well put. That about sums it up.
Should clenbuterol be allowed out of competition? If not taken in the 3 months proceeding a fight, what real benefit does it have other than allowing a fighter to slack off a little without the fat gain.

I was extra critical of Clenelo. but come on man this is the only big fight this year. let them scrap. GGG hasn't stopped training. Canelo is still in the gym. people have already booked flights and hotels (months in advance much cheaper). and its a rematch we need to see. if it gets canceled theres no guarantee they reschedule it. Canelo's reps can easily slap GGG with a defamation lawsuit for his needle comments. if that happens this whole sht will get sour and we'll just have to debate the first fight forever.
Using PED’s doesn’t guarantee victory. Yes, Oscar beat a juiced up Vargas but he also lost to a juiced up Shane Mosley. Twice.

        This is the important part:

Your last point is the biggest to in my opinion. If Clenbuterol is used to cut weight and maintain muscle. And it allowed him to go into his 8 week camp lighter and fresher, then he has already benefited from it being in his system. I’ve been saying the same thing. No matter how many times Canelo test negative up until May 5th, GGG will face a PED aided fighter if they fight on that date. This is bad all the way around.

Give half of Nelo's purse to GGG & fight. Mandate automatic six month suspensions for any amount in any boxers system going forward. Let the world know tainted meat isn't an excuse, since you still reep the benefits.

GGG is fu cked either way.
Fight now while hes got an unfair advantage or age a year inbetween the 1st fight. I got Nelo winning the next two over GGG.

Could it be that a lot of fighters (even Golovkin) use clen before VADA testing starts? Seems to me that it would be easy to cycle on and off based on the fight schedule and not get caught (Alvarez being the exception LOL).

Good point. That should stop all the clenbuterol doesn't help boxing argument. If Canelo is already on weight by the time he starts training there's no reason to to do any weight loss work outs. There's no risk of over training and he doesn't have to sacrifice strength and power.

No doubt boxers have done that. Peterson only got caught because VADA started testing earlier than he expected, they surprised him at the first press conference for the fight. Guys who have VADA testing for their fights deserve credit, it's a lot better than standard commission testing, but only the Donaire style 365/24/7 makes me fully believe that someone is clean. Even what the WBC is doing is underfunded and fighters aren't tested often enough.

Wow, I never even thought about it from that perspective, Bread.

Why hasn't Canelo tested positive before if it was from "tainted beef"?

Had he never eaten beef in Mexico before?

What are that odds that's the first "tainted beef" that he had had?

And if so, why didn't the test catch those?

Please don't call this a "Trace amount.". It was a lot.
