I remember thinking Valero was just a ****er at one point (18 consecutive 1st round KOs and all), but I think it was the demarco fight where I realised just how well he could box on top of being able to ****. Real shame we didn't see that next couple of years post demarco to see just how good he really was.

I agree with everything but I'm not buying that Golovkin was blatantly ducked. Martinez already had one knee out the door so the risk vs reward was way skewed. It didn't help that his people said they were keeping him from Golovkin but that was a case of honesty getting in the way of the truth. They were being too honest when the truth was Martinez wouldn't gain a thing fighting Golovkin. Cotto eventually got more money (I assume) fighting Canelo. No one in their right mind would seriously think Mayweather ducked him because not winning the lotto doesn't mean you didn't receive money that was owed to you.

There were plenty of bums out there (and a few good fighters) for Golovkin to build his repution as a KO artist.

I learn something every week from this. I also end up thinking about something in a new way.

That Alvarez may have ingested this crap by way of a Sloppy Joe may be true, and I have been wanting to give him a pass unless more failed tests or other evidence showed up. But that even in trace amounts it helped him gain an illegal edge is so true and undeniable.

If not cancelled, a large portion of Alvarez' purse of this fight should be docked and given to Golovkin.
